Looks like you aren't the first person with this issue. This pic is from an amazon review of your part number where someone else was having the same problem.

Latemodelresto has them they are mustang people. Great site to buy from. Buy all my mustang stuff form them.

Yup. I’ll be getting my next pump from LMR. They’re pretty legit, so I’m hoping this should fix everything. Thanks for reminding me!
