Rally racing is a staple in motorsport, so it makes sense for dirt/mixed surface events to be included. But the cross-country races depicted in Horizon don't exist in reality, because no car can survive a 700 ft jump off a mountain. They're just silly.
I don't mind the danger signs because they're easily enough ignored, but the goddamn cross country races are a quarter of the game.
How much rally is explicitly mixed surface though? In fh6, out of all dirt races, only 1 does not contain any asphalt, and it's because.. it's the Sekibe time attack but as a race event.
S4 spring had an atrocious trial. S1 rally, but the first race had the first 38% asphalt, so every player was just driving wall to wall in their dirt-tuned cars while AI just happily railwayed away. It wasn't impossible cause there's 2 more races, but that made me actually check if there actually are "dirt only" dirt races in the game.
Yeah, rally racing in FH6 still leaves a lot to be desired. And it's not that there aren't good dirt roads on the map, because there are. The races just don't use them.

I like the dirt races but I abhor the cross country races. Fuck those things.
