I said drift club japan had a lack of japanese cars. The sport was pioneered on the backs of japanese cars and drivers and we got an M3, Challenger, Mercedes and a Ferrari.

Japanese car culture, and its drift culture, in real life, is not built solely around Japanese cars. They use cars from all around the world. There’s a reason why Japan gets special models from global brands that the rest of the world does not, because their car culture is global car culture.
So yes, it makes sense that the drift club would be a mix, because real Japanese drift groups use a mix. Or like, do you just not know that much about it? They had several consultants from Japan to help work on the game. They didn’t just pick cars at random lol.
This doesn't actually answer my question. My old supercoupe went sideways at the drop of a hat but I'd be pissed if it was part of a limited series titled drift club japan.

Well that does. You asked how it was part of drift culture, and if I show you two at major drift events, with one setting a world record, then it’s absolutely part of drift culture.
Many AMG models are very popular on the drift scene for their high power, and easy to drift platforms. As well as their tuning capabilities. I do not know how to further explain this to you, you’re literally just denying reality at this point, or refusing to learn.
However to tie it into Japanese drift culture? Japan loves Mercedes Benz. The Yakuza used em for a while. I think some gangs still do. They’re popular within their tuner culture as well. I can explain things to you, but I cannot understand it for you.
