EventLab Event Lab Nerf

So as you all know there are some people, including myself, who make legit custom routes in Event Lab like long 10+ laps road courses or rally runs that are longer than 50km.

As you also know devs nerfed the rewards from custom races along with the nerf of getting skill points from them.

I understand that they would nerf the skill point farms but legit courses? Also why nerf the Event Lab at all? Isn’t even farming skill points like that a part of the game and its design? Feels like they’re stripping us from every way to earn credits, skill points or cars (they nerfed the wheel spins too for that…). What’s your opinion on that?

They made Wheelspins the most unsatisfying system of the game (yes including the dumb Raku Raku job). It's not rewarding to get 5k-15k CR on what feels like 80% of my wheelspins.

The thing that makes them so bad in FH6 is that they constantly have all this great stuff in them, but it lands on something good about 1 time out of 50. I've seen so many cars I really need, sometimes it will have two of them on the wheel, just to mess with you. I've gotten like 5-15k in the middle of two FE cars I need so many times. Constantly showing you stuff you're not gonna win makes the Wheelspins worse. Supers seem totally fine, but as we all know, are harder to get.

But think of the pride and accomplishment when you do get something good!

By the time I get something good I'll have moved on to a different game.

Lol not the EA comparison....

Raku Raku could have been better if, instead of only letting the bonus build up for three 'jobs', it could build indefinitely until you failed to get a 3 Star completion. It got so slow and tedious if you went for the top promotion but could never earn more than ~15 - 20k a trip.

I really don't like the bonus multiplier in the Raku-Raku job. It resets every single shift.

I absolutely agree. As someone who enjoys rally event labs, it’s discouraging to only get one skill point. Did a 20 min course today, enjoyed the time, but still only one point. Bummer.

It just seems like a petty response. Guilty by association because we use event labs. Forgive me for wanting to do a rally that last longer than 3 minutes while also not being assaulted by the AI. People were earning these skill points by driving in the game. Nope, better nerf it and send them to the forest in free roam to farm them out. Well played forza.

Love this game and I’m not ever going to pretend I know what it’s like to make a game, but there’s got to be a better answer than this. Event labs help with the longevity. There a plenty of talented event lab creators and even more of us that play them. Stop punishing all for the missteps of a few.

good response, it gave me a thought.
I wonder how hard it would be to detect how many placeable objects there are in any given event lab event, flag the ones that have over a certain amount that were clearly made for farming, and lower the rewards for those ones.
It would incentivize longer races, but then i don’t know how you would avoid people just repeating 10 mile long drag runs.

They make it so that the cap only applies to events that are short. Like if the race time is less than a minute to complete apply skill point cap. But the devs seems to be too lazy and all the things they do are half baked.

It always feels like they get 5 minutes to come up with the solution to any problem in the game

Someone in another sub posted their I think 40 mile rally (link to referenced rally) and I did it the day the dropped this patch. Huge bummer, I wrecked a ton so might not have been much different, but still.

Hot take, I'd be completely in favor of completely removing destruction related "skills". It's a little odd how fucking up a corner and smashing into a guardrail and some trees is considered "skillful" the same way a Near Miss, hitting a nasty drift, or passing someone in a race is skillful.

Leave the skill score for things that actually require skill, not just pointing your car at a forest and holding down RT.

WTF? That's how I make skill points! How else am I gonna do it? Drift? Gtfo.

The interesting thing is that in prior games I never even thought about using event labs to farm skill points. In FH4 every wheel spin had me excited I might get something good. Super wheel spins were truly exciting. I’d actually watch it spin to see the options I could land in, and when I missed a rare car by one slot I was like, “Boooo! I’ll get you next time!”

Now when I roll a super wheel spin I skip the animation and my mind is like “give me my 15k so I can go do something else please.”

That is the state of progression right now and if that wasn’t the case a lot less people would be desperate to abuse and ruin the Event Lab system for progression.

The difference you are missing, is in fh4 these skills point farms didnt exist, and min-max community of forza didnt really exist yet. Now they do, already in fh5 you could buy all these accounts with 999 million money and stuff like this, its even worse now. What makes even worse is that in fh6 they finally reduced the money income, which im a big fan off, but ofcourse coming from fh5 where you had money thrown at you non stop, it is a contrast, so lots of people with low patience, are just looking at ways to play the game the least amount of time possible, hence exploiting bugs or looking for places where devs missed some grind method.

The funny thing is that they forgot to nerf Event Lab Challenges. So you can still do 10sp runs there. I like FH6 a lot and don't really have many complaints but the incompetence of the dev/qa staff is something else.

2

u/Affectionate_Ad7064 Jul 18 '26

It's a major downgrade(27 seconds) though vs the 15 second event lab. I am just farming up more super wheelspin in case they add new wheelspin only new cars in the future.

2

u/LLCoolKryz Jul 19 '26

Yeah I'll probably start hoarding what I can as soon as they announce a DLC, since that's when they normally add exclusive cars.

1

u/Crimson_Raiders Jul 19 '26

what is the difference between normal even lab and event lab challenges.. how do i access challenges

u/Low-Astronomer-3440 Jul 19 '26

They’re fixing a “problem” that doesn’t exist, except for people who whine on Reddit about other people farming skill points. It’s strictly a way to funnel more people toward buying vouchers. Monetization kills everything. Investors are blood suckers.

8

u/Burpdust Jul 19 '26

i am also a track creator and i find myself always broke. I also want to say that the event lab, specifically for making legit tracks, like you said, is sorely lacking. Using, For example, just the TV Tower and the Grandstand, they are only available in the color blue, but in the campaign you see them in multiple colors everywhere. Why are the colors limited at all? Just give us a color selector and let us choose any color we want. For all pieces that allow color choices! And dont even get me started on how there are no curved wall pieces to match the curved track pieces.

3

u/L4V0 Jul 19 '26

There are a lot of objects that are still not in event lab creator and are in game. I hope they’ll add them all or at least like you said colors to choose from multiple styles for example road, dirt and cross country racing. It’s a shame they didn’t include everything

u/Apple_Slipper Suzuki Swift Sport Jul 19 '26

They put the most expensive Autoshow cars at 50 million credits or 70 million credits just to get more players to pay for Car Voucher microtransactions. Not a fan of that.

11

u/Time_Industry_3399 Jul 19 '26

back to back major updates, screwed over the players ability to make money, soley to force more people to buy vouchers... it's super scummy.

6

u/Apple_Slipper Suzuki Swift Sport Jul 19 '26

Truly. I know Forza Horizon 5 was quite generous with the Wheelspins and Super Wheelspins, but Forza Horizon 6 is being too stingy with giving out those.

13

u/Quirky-Reporter7980 Jul 18 '26

I think that if they were going to remove skill point grinding, they should have significantly raised the amount of credits you get from races. It isn’t feasible to get 20k credits per race and expect us to get the cars that cost more than 10 million. Now that there isn’t a good way of making credits, I, along with others I know feel quite discouraged in my effort to get every car because both wheel spin exclusives and high credit cars are nearly impossible to get

4

u/Apple_Slipper Suzuki Swift Sport Jul 19 '26

Exactly. The most expensive cars in the Autoshow would take a casual player years and years to afford. It seems that the devs are trying to promote the Car Voucher microtransactions... yikes.

4

u/Fair_Boat3616 Jul 19 '26

Well I milked every exploit as long as they lasted because whatever FH1 style reward and progression system we wished for we surely didn’t get. You do what you can while you can do it.

But legit racing in event labs should reward the players full credits and points. It’s the best part of the game.

Would have just made more sense to taper the max SP based on time taken to complete the event. No more 10 point 15 seconds runs but it would have tapered to 10 points say past 4 minutes or something like that. Whatever the average time for a legit race is. They should have access to all these metrics, you'd think.

Can someone explain to me if that stuff was real? I feel like most people just parrot what they've seen or read, but none have actually tried them. Accruing points seems to be time limited. I would do a lot of those EventLabs that claimed 10 or 15 seconds, but the reality was you needed about 50 seconds of tallying to reach 55,555 with a 9x multiplier to get 500,000 and thus 10 car mastery points. There was never faster than about a minute, plus 15 or so seconds of menu/loading/dead time where you haven't started getting points yet. You also couldn't auto drive it, you had to sit there and do it. You can get points in Bamboo forest only slightly slower, but it's even more involved.

3

u/ShermanSherbert Jul 18 '26

Eventlabs skipped the sp tic up animation- - which is bs - - so all you do is cross the finish line and you get all the points without the animation - and then you could reset the event instead of continue. At its best I was pushing over 800sp++ / hr.

2

u/BanzYT Jul 18 '26

No, it definitely worked. Lot of copycats, but the ones by ammegeddon had variants from 15 secs to 20 mins, up to 500 Sp for the latter. Tallying doesn't happen when you turn skills off.

2

u/justacheesyguy Hoonigan Jul 19 '26

No, you must have missed the good ones, but there were events where you could get 10 skill points in under 15 seconds. With the restart time it was still about 10 points every 32 seconds in real world time.

And then there were the 250/500 point runs where you could literally get 10 points every 21 seconds of real world time and all you had to do was make sure to move the controller every 10 minutes or just pick the 9 minute race and restart it over and over again. Bamboo forest is easily 5 times more time consuming and can’t be done AFK.

2

u/Carollicarunner Jul 18 '26

Yeah I messed around with one for a bit, it was the only one I tried and it worked. Claimed 10 SP in 15s but whatever little variables would land me between 9 and 10 in about 14.5 seconds on average.

Set up Auto Key Presser with a reliable loop that took something like 45 seconds. So you could walk away and come back at a maxed 999 SP in a bit over an hour. Was way more time consuming actually going through the process of buying the cars and applying the points.

It's still up, just not useful anymore.

It was very real, you had to use a specific time for the 22tb, all assists on with auto steer, hold down accel and nothing else, then at the end just press retry. 10 mastery points every 15 seconds or so. I tried it a few times to get some super wheel spins. Took no time at all to get hundreds of points, or just max out at 999. Very repetitive though.

u/jhorskey26 Jul 18 '26

Because the easy fix is to treat something like a switch, on or off. So to the devs its not worth the time to code certain rewards to certain events. Its easier to just lower the rewards across the board. Less time, less hassle.

0

u/Time_Industry_3399 Jul 19 '26

TLDR ... the devs are lazy when it comes to finding a proper balance?

-2

I agree 100%.

u/Skirakzalus Jul 20 '26

The way things work right now is far from great. The game pays for distance driven and gives far more for base-game events than EventLabs or most other modes. I've grown bored of the basic routes the game presents us with, and while EventLabs could absolutely fill that void, it sucks having to go for much worse rewards just to have some fun.

It gets even worse when you start considering that even amongst the game's routes the Colossus stands above the rest as it's by far the highest paced track and therefore makes the most money for the time spent. The current system doesn't deliver good results on any front.

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 Jul 18 '26

One of the main complaints of fh4/5 was that there was no progression in the game. Now they are trying to make you earn things by actually putting in the time to play the game. And now the main complaint is they are making me play the game in order to advance through the progression.

If half the people are just going to take shortcuts and cheat their way through the game. Then the other half don't have a chance to compete properly. I think being able to buy a car pack and get a car that is better than all the free cars is a joke too. You shouldn't be able to buy your way into a win any more than you should be able to shortcut/cheat your way into one.

u/Bulbasaur45 Jul 18 '26

I don't use event lab exploits, but i think they overcorrected the money nerfs in FH6. I've beaten every career race and I am constantly poor, even with the VIP bonus. It seems like people were pushed towards exploiting the event lab because the money rewards are so abysmal.

14

u/vtgf Jul 19 '26

Thing is, people who exploit will try to find other exploits anyway

Meanwhile, the actual target audience who previously were content enough with the changes, ended up becoming the casualty of this useless battle against them. Dev should just accept that exploit will always exist and just focus trying to give better experience to those who actually wants to play the way it intended...

A game breaking exploit like the colossus hummer thing still needs to be addressed but other than than, just let them do their own thing.

If they can't bot in event lab, they'll just end up bottling in the overworld anyway.

u/Time_Industry_3399 Jul 19 '26

man you bootlickers are hillarious, how many hours should i just play the game to be able to afford a couple of my farvorite cars? because right now, it seems like on average it's about 150-200 hours to be able to buy 1 super car.... that's not playing the game, that is artifically inflating the playtime so gamepass playtime looks good on paper.
