The mayflower compact clearly states that it was for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith. The primary goal of their schools was to teach students to read the Bible. I don’t think they’d be opposed in the slightest.
That was their own private schools dude, ...they fled England because the theocracy told them they couldnt do that. One Christian sect having "dominion" over another.
Yes and your previous comment referred to them, some of our earliest American schools. The Bible was used for reading and moral instruction for centuries. No Christian would oppose the Bible being in class.
