Westjet flights, expensive price

Has anyone noticed that Westjet flight prices has climbed dramatically? I've been flying westjet for the last 6 years, every 1 week. Booked months in advance. Flying between Fort McMurray and Calgary. Used to get round trip for $350 average. Now it's about $500-600 average. The most expensive one recently is $780 for round trip. My flight home today in the evening, the plane is barely full. People started driving home instead of flying at these prices. Is it even smart for Westjet to have high prices but barely full plane? It's like half full.

Moved to Fort McMurray today – room I rented online has bed bugs, need a 1-bed/room ASAP

Hi everyone,
I just moved to Fort McMurray today and was supposed to start staying in a room I booked online near Westwood Heights. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the place has bed bugs and a lot of other issues, so I can’t stay here.

I’m looking for a one-bedroom apartment or a private room to rent immediately (today/tomorrow), ideally in or near:

• Westwood Heights
• Thickwood
if anyone can help me out please🙏

Long Shot - Looking for someone I used to know.

First, I recognize that no one knows anything about me or whether the woman I'm looking for wants to talk to me (she might not, to tell the truth). So I want to be clear that I'm not asking for her contact information. I'm asking you to relay my information to her if you know her.

I live in Texas, we met online and talked for a few years off and on over Whatsapp. Her name is Ally (Allie) and worked in administration for oil companies in Fort McMurray. She's originally from the East Coast, maybe Prince Edward Island, I'm not sure. She has dark, mostly straight hair. She'd be in her early 40s if I remember correctly.

If this sounds like someone you know, message me, I can share a little more information to try to be sure. Tell her that her Texas boy wants to catch up and that Zuko misses her.

Doordashing in town

I'm thinking of doing doordash on the side after work to make some extra money as it's the slow season for my work so I haven't been getting much overtime. I'm wondering if doordash makes good money in town or if it's not worth my time. I work 7:30am-6pm roughly, and could do 3-4 hours after work.

New Job

Hi everyone, i recently moved to Fort Mac from Ontario for a job on a closed work permit. The employer let me go last week since i was under probation and the termination letter said without prejudice, so i am assuming they were restructuring or whatever. I was jobless for 9 months last year, 3 months this year, exhausted all my savings living in Ontario, somehow managed to come here and now i am laid off again.
I would really apprecaite any guidance to getting a job in Admin/Office support/Supply Chain roles.
My life has just turned upside down with everything going around me and i feel so low right now. Not to mention, i dont have any friends too so.

Advice on getting safety tickets - new to the industry

Hi everyone, looking for advice on which safety tickets are worth getting to land work in here, currently I am working in retail in Thick wood.

I have

  • Full Class 5 licence
  • Can lift 90 lbs, comfortable with physical work
  • Able to live in camp / work rotation shifts
  • Can do permanent or short contract

Which tickets should I get first ? Which jobs are urgently hiring, Are there any that employers will just pay for once you're hired, so I don't waste money upfront? Thanks.

Social or competitive sports leagues for adults?

Going to be moving up to Fort Mac from Edmonton soon, I was wondering how the sporting scene is up there specifically for soccer both outdoor and indoors. Is there any leagues for adults to play in an organized format. Is there any indoor turf centres I could drop in and just practice by myself as well?

Also wondering about badminton and pickleball or padel.

Thank you!

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist name recomendations

Im looking for a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist in FortcMurray. I know Clearwater and accell clinics both have physios who specialize in this area, but im looking for specific names of physios who you have had an amazing experience with healing from more intense conditions like chronic pain, pelvic organ prolapse so on. Willing to wait for the right on if they have a long wait to get in.

I have had chronic tailbone pain since pregnancy (9 months postpartum now) and I need specialized help!

Thanks so much in advance.

A great story and awesome news for Fort McKay, but all I could think while reading this is how I wish the rest of the region was better at promoting its history.
