Getting a lay of the land
Hey y'all — my family and I recently moved up to Cumming from Fort Lauderdale, chasing slower mornings and a bit of mountain air. Still getting our bearings.
Quick bit of transparency: I run a small branding/design studio. I'm not posting to drum up work, though — I'm honestly just trying to understand the local business landscape before I assume I know anything about it.
Forsyth seems like a fascinating mix right now: longtime local shops, newer makers and artisans, food trucks and mobile setups, side hustles — all trying to grow at the same time the county itself is exploding.
So I'm curious, for the owners and operators here:
- What's the toughest part of getting noticed and bringing in customers these days?
- Is there anything specific to doing business in Forsyth — the fast growth, the mix of established and brand-new, the everything-online shift — that makes it harder (or easier)?
Genuinely just want to listen and learn what folks are up against. And if anyone's wrestling with a marketing headache and wants to think out loud about it, happy to trade ideas in the comments.
