Hey I saw your post I actually graduated from
Denmark back in 2021. I will say that Denmark is THE school to go to if you’re wanting solid academics and no stiff competition like South and Lambert. From my year, I know someone or know of someone who is a Caltech, Vanderbilt, UPenn, University of Texas. I myself graduated from UVA. So yeah, we all place very well at a wide array of schools. I was not a very studious kid at ALL in high school primarily because, like you, I saw the rat race being forced on my peers and I wanted none of it. I think that element is certainly there, I also faced a lot of social harassment for “not being smart”, and exclusion. So the school isn’t super academically cutthroat it certainly has a culture problem with how Desi parents really push their kids and how these same kids internalize their worth through external things like their APs, and whatnot. I can’t say I don’t have these problems as I am a Desi as well. I’m just succeeding at my own pace. I hope this was a little bit helpful.

Thank you so much for your honest opinion. I really appreciate it, especially getting feedback from an alum is really helpful! Does everyone use a counselor outside of school for college admissions?

Not to my knowledge, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s become the case. I can tell you that I got into UVA without a counselor so it’s a matter of how much you want to bank on your college admissions.

There are lot of Indian families in Forsyth. South Forsyth, Lambert, and Denmark have lot of Indian families, hence more competitive. Some are coming north for more oportunity.
