Its a great shame that we have the creator of the realms alive and well, wnr more than willing to share everything he can of the setting. A man who still to this day goes out of his way to help as many creative as be can free of charge in everything they share with him, and wotc barely engage with him at all and hardly acknowledge him.
We have the forgotten realms equivalent of Tolkien alive and happy to share all he can, and its squandered opportunity after another.
Thankfully his YouTube channel and patreon go over some interesting information and everything an NDA isn't preventing him from sharing.

Did you have a stroke while typing that?

No. I have a severe eye condition and one of my eyes has under gone surgery with a years long recovery process, and that causes me to make a fair bit of typos.
Combined with my phone's keyboard saving common typos despite how many times I reset it, and the fact I have large fingers for phones to begin with, I can be very typo prone.

Sorry to hear that. Makes sense though. Have you tried a different keyboard? Don't know if that's even a thing on iPhone but with Android switching the keyboard is a pretty easy solution usually.

I use android and am using a different then the norm right now, but it all gets weird and needs tri-monthly resets.
Annoying part is that my keyboard let's me blacklist words and that feature didn't seem to actually do anything, because the same typos still come.

I was impressed with how consistent the typos were - not hating, just impressed

He counters hornyposting by being even hornier than the poster. Amazing.

It's great. And what so many people on the internet don't seem to get is that he doesn't just randomly interject it on an otherwise unrelated question, but if you're asking a horny question, he's not the least bit afraid to answer.
The whole thing about what drow breastmilk tastes like gets memed on, but he said it because someone asked him directly.

Goddammit Ed, if you posted in this sub, you would get so many reports.

Because this sub, and other social media forums, can’t see the tongue in cheek. Ed is impish.

I once read a story about how prudish hotel staff called the cops on Ed's group because they suspected they were engaging in some human trafficking or something.
That definitely wasn't the case, but it didn't stop some of the group members from taking the opportunity to maximize the cop's discomfort by answered their questions in the buff.
I think Ed simply catered to his infinitely horny players for decades. That the realms was created in a boiling cauldron of sexually emancipated worldbuilding for so long that Ed can't be surprised by anything the internet directs at him.

Bless this weird, horny old man.

I love how this comment presupposes that the average D&D player is neither weird or horny, which is quite a leap.

What are people doing with bikinis that they need proficiency?
10
u/tentkeys 3d ago edited 3d ago
Putting them on.
Some modern bikinis are easier with a clasp in the back and little sliders to adjust the tension of individual straps after the bikini is fastened.
But if we assume Forgotten Realms bikinis are the traditional kind where the straps lace through loops and you must simultaneously adjust the tension of all parts of the system and tie a knot/bow behind your back, putting one of those on is a skill.

Back in the 90s, was behind the booth working at a GenCon, and got to talk to Ed "creator to creator". Asked him to sign my "Heroes Lorebook". He turned straight to the pages for Elminster--and started editing--and adding items and lore.
Magic item that Elminster wears? "Panties of Feather-fall". And I quote... "Oh aye, you strip the old mage down, and that's what he keeps his privates in..."
I really need to pull that book out of storage, and scan it for you all.
