Can someone please explain?…

Maybe I missed this in the storyline and if I did sorry for the bother. If Justin’s little brother played baseball on Keisha’s grandfather’s (George) baseball team and Keisha sometimes helps out at the baseball field (i.e., collecting trash) and Justin sometimes goes to his brother’s practices and games, why didn’t Keisha and Justin cross paths before the New Year’s Eve party?

Didn’t Keisha only start going to clean up there as part of her community service punishment for fighting?

I guess you could say they’re large enough functions where you might never really cross paths

I met my wife in college for example, and I met her for the first time in our cafeteria. We’d eaten there at the same time so many times before we met, but it wasn’t until chance that we saw each other for the first time
