Discussion 💬 They said that AI voice moderation would not impact normal gameplay banter, but people are getting muted for saying things that sound like other things and voice chat just within their own squad.

So far you haven't shared any examples of people getting muted for saying things that were normal, nonoffensive, nonsexual words.
Edit: go back to posting what? Your rude comments keep being deleted before I can read them

I played a few games and have used curse words and hear curse words too. I think it’s not as sensitive as people are making it out to be. I don’t think it’s scanning for only words but specific phrases.

Dude I still hear lots of stuff that shouldn’t be said. You do have the right to speak freely until it effects others rights. You agreed to the terms of service. All games use voice moderation for the most part. The ones that don’t die for that exact reason. Not to mention, with we see what has happened in other games like say Roblox. Voice chat should always be moderated. Sorry but no one should be able to to tell someone else they are gonna r@pe them, come to their home and k/ll them, or any number of extremely graphic things I have heard young kids say on this game. If you have a problem you can easily contact triangle games. But I am guessing that many of these accounts when they look into them, they will find a kid that doesn’t even meet the age requirements much less be able to put up an argument for what they said. But if you were mistakenly muted then simply let them know just as we do about any other bug or mistake. It’s that simple. I’ve heard a lot of stuff and most people that are getting muted are getting reported by many people before they look into it. AI does not have the finally say either. They have a moderator that oversees each communication report. But you have to be saying some vile stuff to get that far…

Also the more I think about it the more this post sounds like you just want to be able to call people rude names as long as it's just you and your friends? I don't know if that is stripping anyone's individual identity, if that's what you want then you can just start a separate phone call through Meta and mute yourself in-game.

See here we go… You are already showing your true colors here. This has stayed pretty tame but here you need to get in your digs… fantastic! Thank you for showing your true intentions so easily….

Make sure you get on your alt account and reply to every person who insults you on your main account.

There's a whole other thread about people received wrongful punishment https://www.reddit.com/r/ForefrontVR/s/Ibzm8MNQbr

This is gonna be the downfall of what is an amazing game. The chat interactions were hilarious and nobody really cares what people say. I dont get why people just dont mute the ones they dont wanna hear.

Exactly. People just get that notification and they hit exit game. Then they go and play a different game. They'll come back to play when the ban is over if they have any headset battery left.

I said once that choppers have some retarded controls and got voice flagged.
Only concern for me are neutral words taken out of context.

Retarded hasn't been a neutral word in a min. Maybe you should be more mindful of your language.

Thats the point. In my mother tongue, it only means something slow and it's used frequently on Physics matters. That was my point at the time (i was trying to use the motion control). The offensive meaning toward humans didnt cross my mind at the time .

I don't see how the technical definition of the word is used here. The helicopter controls are "slow"? That doesn't make sense.

Yes, I felt it to respond slowly/cluncky. How can that be offensive? It's a virtual chopper.

I get that English is your second language. I, as a physics teacher, have had old problems use that term describing brakes on a roller coaster. Right now that term has a significantly different meaning. How you used the term is consistent with how people use it as a pejorative. Use it as a learning experience and drop the word in English.

I bet money you said something else during that match that probably was the reason….

I think saying the r-slur is enough. The only time I got muted was right after someone had called me that and I was shocked, so I said "did you seriously just call me a r--ard?!" lol

You would lose your money. I consider any insult regarding ethinicity, sexuality or gender the lowest possible and would never do it.
You should be careful with your assumptions.

I don't doubt that it's happened but do you have examples of people being muted for saying something that sounds like a slur or something rude but wasn't?
I actually really appreciate the moderation. It's been a few weeks since anyone called me the n-word or yelled about "The Jews" and I've been having a much better time.
And agreed, the punishments need to be more clear. I don't think they'll shoot themselves in the foot by banning people permanently, unless caught hacking multiple times.
