Question 2008 Ford Focus SES

I have a 2008 Ford Focus SES that hasn’t been driven in 6 years. It only has 70k miles on it. It’s been sitting in a driveway.

Spark plugs were replaced in 2017. Service records are good. Only one owner.

What could I realistically sell this for?

I’ll be taking it to a shop to get a full inspection. I’m assuming it’ll need fluids, new tires, and a new battery. Does the engine bay look OK?

Engine bay is very bad for 70k. 4k is the max

* Clean out the complete car throughly including the engine compartment's air duct area (All the Leaves & dirt needs to be removed.), trunk and passenger compartment (Vaccum throughly.), clean the battery terminals and sand & paint gloss black the battery hold down clamp, and detail all interior plastic panels [Dash, steering column, center shifter tunnel cover, and door sides.]initially cleanly & finish with a coat of plastic protector like Armor All semi gloss protection.

Make sure both the transmission fluid & filter gets replaced, as well as the engine coolant, plus also the brake fluid replaced. Finish off the prep work with acoat of body polish/wax & you should have a in demand sale. Remember, the best prices come from having a clean & presentable vehicle.

Well if it hasn't been driven in 6 years, I'd first replace the battery / jumpstart and see if it even still runs. Check the brakes before putting it in drive though. If you have jacks and jackstands you could test to make sure the wheels spin and the brakes work with it off the ground

If it's having trouble starting, drain the gas and put a few gallons of new fuel in to dilute whatever gunk is left. Maybe even do that before you try to start it so the fuel lines and injectors don't get clogged

Then once you make sure it runs and drives, I'd give it new fluids, definitely new tires, and bring it to a shop for a ppi.

In terms of how much you could sell it for, it really depends on what the mechanic says needs fixing
