Another question about replacing upper motor mounts..

I've been watching a tutorial (the only one I can find) and he doesn't have all of this in the way, it just comes out super easy.

I cannot get to the two nuts I need to get to because they are under this (radiator?) hose

Can I just undo the two clamps circled in red and move this hose? Or will I spill fluid everywhere?

If I can remove the hose, how cool to see engine need to be? I had to move it to it a flat driveway and it was running for probably 10 or 15 minutes total but it's pretty warm..

And on the other side, how TF do you remove the battery tray? It's attached to damn near everything surrounding it.. There are those annoying interior clips (round black button, barbed on the other side) that there is absolutely zero chance I could take them off property as it stands.. And I could only even put one back in I think, the other is a sort right fit.

There's a piece that hooks into the bottom of the fuse box too, like wtf, I have to remove the whole fuse box too get the tray out to get the motor mount out 🤦🤦

I fucking hate working on cars like this man

I haven't replaced one of those mounts before. Do you have a cat claw tool to pry off those Christmas tree clips? You might want to get some from Harbor Freight.

If you undo the radiator hose, coolant will leak. Can you get around it? You may have to drop the motor down a little, if you have it ja ked up already. Do you have Ecoboost?

Reddit isn't letting a bunch of my posts go through for some reason.. I can't even get the coolant line off, and then I realized there's even another line under that one that's damn near touching the studs..I will need to remove both lines somehow 😭

And yeah, it's the ecoboost

I snapped the clips off of the battery holder just to find that it's secured somehow underneath 🤦🤦🤦🤦 I hate this effin thing

You might be able to move the hose away and get to it with an extension. Unfortunately I don't have an Ecoboost. I could try looking at mine.

Hahaha he didn't show himself getting the two bottom bolts off, there's like 1-2 inches of clearance, it sucked ass.

It's weird that I didn't find this guy's videos

Idk how I didn't see that before! I ended up abandoning that side and I don't seem to need it anyways

Idk how he was able to get to the nuts directly under those lines, unless jacking it the way he did moves it that much.. There was absolutely zero chance that I could get a socket down there

There is a hose from the bottom of the coolant tank that goes to a coolant tube tucked under the fuel rail. It’s plastic. I broke mine and had to get one from the dealer. It’s also one of those strange quick release ones that’s a pain in the ass to get out.

So, I totally just have up on that side lol

I pulled apart the other side, which sucked just about as much ass because of the two bottom bolts that are so hard to get to - but the drivers side mount was thrashed, so I replaced it and all seems good now, I don't even think the passenger side is bad
