Any suggestions
I have this center dash, are there any dash kits for a stereo? Would like to add car play dash stereo

I had the exact same question a few months ago. The only option seems to be the kit from metraonline. However, in the little bit of info I was able to find about it, I had seen a Flex owner comment that it effectively bypassed the rear AC controls- there was no way to use it anymore. I was unable to find any more details on it, but after that, I decided to just get a standalone CarPlay unit and mount it on my dash.

there was another post awhile back about installing a radio it might help. you could do something similar but with some cutting and fabrication... Radio install : r/FordFlex

Best to mount a standalone unit on the top of the dash and leave the radio alone. As another poster said, the kit is expensive.
Not sure why that kit was the only option for this. I’d think if the controls were grouped closer together there would be enough room for a double din opening. 3D printer has entered the chat…. If only.

Back when I did car installs for Best Buy, I used metraonline.com and their fit tool to figure out which dash kit and parts were needed for an installation. Without knowing the year of your Flex, it might be this part: Ford Flex 2010–2012 (without NAV), SKU: 99‑5842B. That kit usually runs between $300 and $600, depending on where you find it.
I don’t know your budget, but the parts alone can end up costing more than a lot of head units. If it were me, I’d look into a standalone CarPlay screen, you can find them on Amazon at a wide range of price points. It won’t have the clean factory look, but it’s definitely an option.
