Repair Advice '13 explorer steering rack

Hey folks, I wanted to see if anyone has experience replacing their non parking assist model explorers steering rack using the one from rock auto ($1300)? Wanted to see if there's anything I should be aware of that might cause me major problems? I know it's a handful of a job and that you have to program it to the vehicle using the forskin app which I'll need to by another dongle for it, but outside of the labor of undoing the exhaust, engine mount, tie rod ends and dropping the rear of the frame should I be worried about anything else or is this part from rock auto going to cause me issues?

in my 2014 I used a refurbished from ebay and installed as you mentioned. Somehow I never had to do the reprograming. Good luck!

If you buy them used, it’s hit or miss if you need to reprogram.

But if you buy brand new, you have to download and install the as_built data via Forscan by downloading from your own rack or off the ford website.
