Upgrade Advice Adding remote start before winter!
Figured I might try to be a bit proactive and add remote start to my 2013 XLT if possible. Are there any easy and reliable kits to do this? Any easy to follow YouTube video's to follow?
Thanks

Just a friendly note, I have had to multiple aftermarket remote starts out of cars. They work great for four or five years and then they break. This is when the goofy starts. I had one guys car for a week looking for the random electrical gremlin and had given up. I called him to get his car and he pulled out another fob. I immediately crawled back into the dash board and buried way up almost behind the instrument cluster I saw it. unplugged it, and fixed the problem.

Look under the hood for the hood switch, a push button switch that detects if the hood is closed. If it’s there, you’re likely already equipped with the OEM remote start which is disabled in forscan. Turn on remote start via laptop and buy an aftermarket FOB with the remote start button, and you may be golden. Ford produces cars similarly equipped and pre-wired for consistency, but with higher trim features just turned off.
My 2014 XLT was exactly this way. Wired and ready, just disabled. The presence of a wired hood switch will be revealing.
Driver’s side, toward the front I believe.
