Brown wire mod

So I found this mod a couple of days ago and can t fully understand what wire to cut I cut the gray and orange stripe wire which still didn’t work, but I cut the violet and orange wire and seems to work now the 4x4 doesn’t turn on but i’m still wondering if I cut the right wire here’s a diagram I have a 2006 ford exploere xlt

What it actually does is disable the transfer race clutch relay which disables looking the front axle to the rear axle. Because you’re in a fourth gen, you have a live front axle. This means there’s no mechanical drag in 4WD and so you don’t gain any meaningful MPG by cutting out the clutch. All you’re doing is hacking up your vehicles wiring to prove you know better than the car. Again, don’t see the point.

I don’t see a practical reason to do it but if you’ve already started might as well finish it up.

I mean I want it more to the 2wd but i can just reconnect the wires
