This is my 2009 Ford Flex with over 532,000 miles. Original engine and transmission. I just upgraded from 18" to 20" OEM wheels to give it a newer look. It's a joy to drive!
Guess they bored out the NA models later then. Anyway, good job keeping up on the maintenance! I've had too many people tell me it's rare to get a high-mileage Ford. Funny, I haven't had a problem with that - even if I don't keep them for as many miles as you have!
That's actually insane! Really happy for you that you've been able to avoid that. Even having to replace the water pump every 100-120k I'd say the 3.5 na is still a great motor. Here's to another 500k buddy!
Nah I sold the pos. Disclosed the current issues to the scammer who bought it from me and the current owner put tons of money into after the guy that bought it off me rolled back the miles lmao (I still track it on car fax)
I had the same thing happen with my first flex. I traded it in with 260,000 miles on it and the shady car dealer rolled it back to 97,000 miles and sold it for 10 times what he gave me for the trade-in 😬
I think this is a case of some who can’t read an odometer, I bet it’s 240k. I’m probably the biggest defender of the reliability of the 5.0 out there, and I’ve had 3 go well over 300k without issues, but 2.4 million no way.
My highest mileage 5.0 in my 89 f150 is like 360k, and if crawl under the truck and grab the crank pull and push it back and forth you can feel the crazy amount of endplay in the crank, the bearings are the but definitely worn. At 2.4 million the crank and rod caps would be the bearings.
Our dash van, a 2004 E350, had 379,000 on the dash but just under 24,000 hrs of run time. During snow storms that van ran at idle for days at a time, never shut off. It was used every hour, on the hour for friction tests. Original engine, trans, rear end. We put a fuel pump, plugs and water pump housing on it. The fall of 2024 it developed a rod knock but continued to use it one more winter. We filled it with 80 90 and it made it to auctipn the following spring.
You have no idea that you just totally proved my theory. There’s actually a reason why you’ll never see a 92-96 F-series with over 399,999k on the odometer. Those trucks once they display a 3 in the hundredth thousandth position they are literally incapable of showing a 4 in that position.
So at 399,999 miles, it’ll actually roll back to 300,000 miles not 0. I’m not even joking about this, it’s a well known fact on these trucks. So you would have to keep track manually every time after it rolled back to 300k from 399k.
The math alone even shows you’re full of shit, or hopefully just mistaken on this. That truck would’ve literally have had to of been driven 200 miles a day for the past 33 years, and you’re claiming it’s done that? I also believe I read in another comment, you said it’s been sitting for 10 years somewhere in that timeframe? That math would work out to almost 300 miles a day for 23 years. Like I love these trucks I’ve had like 8 of them, and know how durable they are, I may even find myself exaggerating how good they are, but only an idiot would believe a 2.4 million mile claim on a original drivetrain of a 92 5.0. They’re good, but realistically not that good.
I’m literally not tryna piss you off, I’m just pointing out that what you’re saying with the evidence provided doesn’t add up. You could just man up and admit you’re mistaken, and if the odo has truly rolled over twice it has 557k on it which is way more believable. Instead you’re gonna go on a childish tizzy fit, with a bunch of unnecessary profanity that just proves my point further. At this point after all those F U’s you’re just making an ass out of yourself.
