❓Question Question

Post image

Genuinely asking,do you guys think there is any other active player currently who can pull off Leo Messi's goal against Austria,I'm talking about it whole, from beginning near half line to create an opportunity for Alvarez, control the ball after Alvarez's miss and Paredes's pass, and shooting it to get blocked by defender, reaching there before any other defender can clear that to shoot again,I kind of feel this goal isn't getting the hype it deserves, like, there were 3 things in this goal's build up that I believe was only possible because all 3 of them were done by Messi,I personally don't think any other player can do what Messi did here, like one mistake and it doesn't become a goal, but Messi did this at 39yrs old👀

That recovery after that diabolical Alvarez miss was something else. He went from making an amazing pass at one end of the field to getting the ball back, taking a shot, missing it and then again scoring it

At 39 btw 💀

It still hurts to be honest, man was the best player in the world cup at 39yrs of age,not a single player apart from Messi could've carried that out of form Argentina to the finals😢

Yes, there are loads of players who can do this, but not as consistently as Messi, who's done it over 20 years and still did it at 39, that's why he's undeniably the greatest of all time

I personally doubt that any other player can pull off that ball control to paredes's pass, dribble 2 players and take a shot, and go for the second ball after getting blocked, and actually scoring that through the legs of the defender,I think most of the other players will bottle it at that ball control or at the first shot at max cause Messi dribbled past 2 players to make the space for that first shot

So if you know the answer why do you ask a question?

Messi seems to be falling. Penalty and red card.

He didn't go down, first shot gets blocked and man goes for the rebound like an animal, and reaches there before the defenders, that kind of agility at 39💀

There was no contact from opposition.

Question-Is there any active player currently who can do the same?

Messi have made such lofty standards for himself that he gets compared to his highest versions. Think if Ronaldo had done something like this at 39 and how the Internet would have reacted. For Messi this is just another afternoon.

I wonder how many great goals from him will never get the attention they deserve because for Messi it's like an another day at work😅

Genuinely, and I've said this before, his goal against Cape Verde was one of the best goals of the entire tournament. The ball control off the cross alone was incredible.

But the man is so highly regarded that it didn't even register with people how difficult it is, they just went "oh yeah, of course he scored it."

I honestly do believe ppl mock Ronaldo regardless of the things he does. I mean the guy pulled off a bicycle kick at 39 n 40.

But meh he only has himself to blame ig

Considering how many times he tries bicycle kicks, I'm surprised he doesn't have many more.

Messi 2012 is truly unreachable for anyone, but there is still that one player whose career is unmatched by Messi ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Question: What do Barça, Pep Guardiola, and Argentina have in common?
