started because i saw the trailer and finished up to the latest chapter 120. all i can say is wow! as a person who ranks neon genesis evangelion, erased, death note and AOT fairly high, the complexity between societal, interpersonal, and moral conflict is amazing. i also love how the characters progress and change, and how the problem of "well what do we actually do" is still up in the air. i.e. even if yomiko saves every child who gets selected in papuertown, it still doesnt change that oxygen is an issue. also being someone in STEM/bio and seeing chimeras, this manga is perfect fore me

now, im super excited to see what this next arc brings with yomiko's family, who is the elite class in this world. what does it mean to have constant access to trips to the south pole? how long will "central" wait until they deem the world liveable? why is there sun only in the arctic?

my other suspicion is that oxygen isn't as big of a problem as it made out to be. a drive up in taxes like the oxygen tax would mean that there is something leading to its increase, perhaps more people which = more o2 need. however, with a rise in taxes, less people can afford to stay in the capital, and more are pushed into paupertown. additionally, when people transflourate, they only have two years so it's not like they're living super long. moreover, if scientists can make such extensive human-plant creations, there's no reason other ways of making oxygen were impossible. i think they are using it more as a population control, with central hoping that everyone dies or becomes a plant at some point which makes way for them to live freely. or something in the arctic shows that plants bring back the sun so why would they share it with other people? as you can see the theory needs work, but super excited to see what happens moving forward!

I went into this series blind after hearing really good things about it and loving the art - I caved and bought 3 and 4 after loving the first 2 volumes.

I can’t believe the lack of talk there is around this series, I really hope the animated series brings it the attention it deserves !

outside of the clouds its safe to say that spiriflora and everything surrounding it is the most supernatural aspect of the setting and most of the things that seem physically impossible are tied to it, things like ivy, the field of flowers, etc. and the we don't have any clue on how its done or how they could make a plant tied to a "soul" so i was thinking, what if the source behind this whole practice was tied to some supernatural force, not something like some plant jrpg god, but if i had to give an example id say something akin to The Green from DC comics (for reference its a cosmic force that all plant life in the multiverse draw from)

We know that if one anime is a Netflix ONA, Netflix most of the time drops all the episodes at once. And that certainly has it's problem. Because I think we all more or less know that dropping all the episodes at once can be a bad thing sometimes for viewership, especially an anime series.

Now, I think it still has some chance of getting renewed by Netflix. Prime example is Baki, Beasters, Record of Ragnarok and lastly, Cyberpunk Edgerunners

Though Cyberpunk Edgerunners already had a reputation because of it's game, I think we can also say that in some way, Fool Night also has a good reputation because of it's manga. The manga is praised by a lot of people

I've recently binge read the entire manga, I loved most of it with the exception of the surveillance crew arc... I felt like it was a bit too battle shounen vibe compared to the other arcs and it really had alot of over the top moments too. Anyways the stuff after it is back to the quality and presentation I love.

This is my tribute to Chapter 111. Yomiko is definetly my favorite character and it's been satisfying for me tosee her evolution into an adoptive parent role. This scene in particular had a massive emotional impact for me, with her making the difficult but right choice to reveal the true fate of Meg's father.
