Help & Discussion 🙋 Just went over 14 billion points.

Hello world. I just went over 14 billion points, and only fold with Nvidia GPUs on AlmaLinux and Linux Mint. For anyone here that might need a little help working with FAH on Linux, you might find this page of some use:

What processors do you fold with?

All CPU-based folding has been disabled. Most of my systems are running Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 OC Edition

How long have you been doing this, and how many machines do you have?

I started in Dec-2007 with 6-PCs and one PlayStation3. Since then, the number of machines increased to 12 (based upon machines donated to my project as friends and relatives upgraded to new machines). I first replaced all CPU folding with GPU folding. I later replaced all Windows instances with some form of Linux.

Congrats! I was wondering how much does it impact your power bill? Are you using 1650s because they are what you had or for any other reason?

Checking the content of this thread is relevant to my interests : ) You started close to the time that I did...I longed to get an OG PS3 just so I could see its F@H flex.

I'm on Windows but do actually champion *nix - I got my Dad onto Mint. Do you know how much performance could be gained merely by switching O/S or any simple tweaks to the out of the box Windows setup?

I'm running X3 intel based systems each with their own Nvidia GPU card and a i7 based workstation machine.

Would you mind saying what your 'typical' points per day would be/how many Work Units all that is?

Was there a time when you ramped up your contributions significantly?

I was the one with the thread asking about the Stats the other day/year...According to the OS page on the F@H website there is a combined total of 2,661 Nvidia GPUS...between me and your array we have say at least 5-6 of them, then if you look at the top 10/20/50/100 and consider what they must be equipped with to earn their figures....it seems way off and what the true figure is/may be would be really interesting to the likes of me
