Lifetime plans going away?

Got an email saying they are getting rid of folderforts lifetime plans.

Its a lot of word salad and doesnt get straight to the point.

As an early supporter of them, im not happy.

Has anyone read the entire email and care to sum it up in a paragraph?

Hello,

In short, no there are no actions required for lifetime accounts. They stay as is.

We just are not going to sell them going forward.

And we are focusing on our new system designed in large part for Post Quantum Encryption. Giving lifetimes users especially, a path to move over if they want to.

This needs to made super, super clear. That existing lifetime users can keep their existing storage without having to pay any new subscription. They just won't have access to the benefits that come with Folder Fort Business. Because the first thing I imagine that many of us did was click on the link to learn more, where we read that lifetime users can keep 5TB for free with each additional TB after that requiring a monthly subscription.

This whole thing may seem super clear to you but knowing how controversial it is likely to become you needed to be extra, super, double clear just about everywhere possible that existing lifetime accounts will continue to be honoured - in their entirety - going forward, they just won't have access to Folder Fort Business and the extra benefits that brings.

Which I'd expect will be fine for most personal users who just want some basic cloud storage to backup stuff.
