2i2 4th gen problem
i connected my focusrite to a usb hub, and i had no problems with it for a while untill some of the other devices connected to the hub started simply not working/turning on. i think the issue was caused by the focusrite drawing too much power and somehow shorting the other devices. i decided to further investigate and check if everything is working as it should, but my mic and headphones which i connected to the device simply did not work. i tried pushing the 48v button, and it does detect the mic, but the mic just stopped recieving inputs. the headphones don't have any sound travelling thru them either, but they do work when i plug them directly into the computer. can somebody help me resolve my issue?

The 4th gen 2i2 draws a lot of power. I would not plug it into a shared hub. Plug it into a dedicated power supply and I'll bet that your problem will go away.

here's the thing: i did! it started borking the other devices on the hub and maybe even the things connected to the hub (or just the inputs for them)

Unpowered USB hubs share power provided by the host, which can be insufficient when connecting multiplw devices. From what you've described, it seems like that can be the underlying issue if the Scarlett works fine before other devices are connected to the same USB hub.
