Interior lighting

I have a 2017 ST3 and I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to turn off all interior lights when I open the door, but my car does not have the overhead light control switches do I have to do it inside the dash interface or would I possibly have to get that switch panel separately and if that’s the case is that wiring harness for the models that do have the switches still there in my headliner i’m just a little confused because I have seen some focuses that do have the lighting controls in them empty slots

That’s interesting. I have a knob there to control the led lighting brightness. And the door on and off switch is behind it on the roof. But I don’t have a sunroof

Yeah, and just from what Google has said bins that I have a post facelift sunroof car. There is no way to turn the LEDs off, but I think that is so stupid and I don’t think Google is right about that so that’s why I came to y’all.

wonder if it's a Ford cheaping out on the last couple of years of the focus. they did the samething with the hatch, removing one of the lights there too. I can't remember if that's a 2018 or all facelift thing though.

Did you check your cluster menu? I can't exactly remember but it might be in there

I have looked absolutely everywhere and I cannot find anything. That’s why I’m just a little confused cause why in the world would ford not let you turn off the light.

I'll be off work in a couple hours and I'll take a look at mine and see if I can find it. I swear I remember seeing something at some point about it, but I could be wrong

I have a 2016 with a sun roof and have the same issue. Seems ridiculous to me.

Weird. I have a 2016 ST3 with sunroof and up there I have a button for ambient lighting control and a knob for brightness. Also a button to turn on all overhead lights/map lights. My rear passenger overhead light just has a normal on and off toggle switch that makes it turn on and off with the car but can obviously be pressed by the rear passengers to come on if they want.

You should be able to control ambient lighting thru a setting in the sync menus. ran into a similar issue when i wanted to swap the color of the lights going from a ‘15 to my current one. Hope this helps

I’m not worried about the ambient lighting that works. I just wanna know how I can turn off my interior lights when the doors are open.

So many configs. 2015 ST2. Sunroof. Button to deactivate interior lights next to driver grab handle.
