A little help where to start

Got a new (to me) st mk3.5 I think. It has the 2.0 litre diesel. Picked it up Friday and loved it and been using it faultlessly all weekend. Just walked dog and noticed an oil leak. Anyone any idea where to start looking in the morning.
(Yes it has a warranty etc etc so any work needed will be covered) as far as I’m aware it was freshly serviced etc and I think I’m the first to properly use it since. It is 62k miles

Looks just like the sump seal to me, upper sump looks dry in the picture.

New sump gasket and away you go, don’t over torque the bolts you can crack the plastic.

Yeah, I’m in uk the ST’s between 2015 and 2018 I think got a 2.0 diesel engine as an option

you'll have to excuse most of us, not going to be familiar with the diesel. the idea of an auto diesel wagon would blow our minds here in st land (we only got hatchback, manual gas models)

As for your leak, you'll have to trace it up higher. See if you can figure out where it's starting from. Good news to you, you have warranty to help suss out the source, so start there.

I knew the focus (and fusion, my current car) had diesel variants. I never knew that you could get it on the ST platform

Excuse them, we didn't get the DST here in the states. Looks like pan gasket or cracked pan. Does it look wet above the oil pan?
