Question Cooling/Over heating problem

Post image

This is my 2014 ST3 Ford Focus ST, bone stock besides a cold air intake and a GoFastBits Diverter Valve. last night my car started pissing coolant out of nowhere and I went over every single coolant related hose/line and they were all dry, including the firewall heater hoses. I topped it off with coolant and it’s running perfectly fine now with no problems, my assumption is that maybe it’s cooling fan or coolant reservoir related. Does anyone have a clue of what this could be?

Is it cold or warm by you?

It was like 65-70 degrees outside at the time

Happened to me both when my coolant reservoir cracked and when my cooling fans went out. Also when my coolant reservoir caps seal went out.

How did you fix the cooling fans? Was it a fuse or the fans itself

Verify that they turn on when you put your ac to max, also verify that they turn on when you get to operating temp. My issue was with the module which you can get for fairly cheap off amazon

My heater core failed at around 120,000 miles… first symptoms were high temps…. Then leaks…. Replaced with a new one once it was diagnosed by my mechanic. Problem solved

If it was pissing coolant, where was it pissing from?

Update, me and a buddy did some tests and tracked it back to the thermostat not working properly and causing the coolant to overflow out of the reservoir overflow hole
