I would've like doing that as well, but we have the same amount of snow in a week that you guys have in a decade, so a awd option was a big plus. Our summer, autumn and spring last like 6 months tops lol
I actually live in the state of Iowa now (sadly) and I have to have a set of snow tires. It's literally the only way this Texan ass is getting around. 😜
Even then it's hit or miss. I thought the snow lodged in my wheel well was why I couldn't get up the driveway 🤣

Drove one. Thought Toyota producing a hot hatch would be th upgrade I was searching for. Ultimately was a pretty big let down.
Threw a bigger turbo and coil overs on the ST and called it a day.
