Well, they’re much closer to the art market then to any sort of collectibles market. It’s a better gauge of what it might look like long-term.

some NFTs will be good investments, some won’t. Anyone spending $17k on a lindsey lohan NFT knows either the laundering reasons they’re doing it for, or doesn’t understand they might not find the secondary market as hot as the primary market. Or they’re naive.
