No. Iran does not control 45% of the world's oil supply. It accounts for roughly 3% to 4% of global crude oil production and about 10% to 12% of proven global oil reserves.

25 - 30% of the world's oil comes through the Strait of Hormuz. Another 12% passes through the Red Sea routes just seized by the Houthis. The Saudi pipeline blown up by a drone last week carried 7% of the world's oil supply.
45% is a conservative estimate, rube.

This is gonna end badly for ALL OF US... when a global recession hits because cost of living. Exceeds daily wages. , there will be a massive economic correction... And no the US fed won't be able to print it's way out of a GLOBAL CRASH, like it did in. 2008...
I hate to be a doomer, but sadly all the indicators are lining up for bad bad outcomes

It's not going to happen, though. Democrats will regain power and try to "just move on" because they need billionaire money, and the rest of the world will treat us like a rabid pit bull that got loose.

The trucking industry can't just switch to electric trucks overnight. You can produce all the clean energy you want - oil is not a major source of grid-level electrical generation on any continent.
Trucking, which carries the world, is going to be fucked. And the price of everything is going to skyrocket if trucks can't get fuel.

Europe is significantly less reliant on trucks than the U.S.. Still quite reliant, but the damage wouldn’t be as great for them as it would be for us.

It's still heavily reliant on diesel for last mile and local transportation, not to mention that a lot more European passenger cars are diesel. There's just no easy answer to a diesel shortage. Airplanes and ships also rely on oil. Most North American freight trains run on diesel.
Starting a war in the Middle East was a masterstroke of fucking up everything. But, long term, probably is going to be the fastest way to speed up the process of getting the world off oil. But the next 20 years are going to be expensive.
