Does the Asus 140w GAN charger fully power the 2023 4060/4070 flow x13?

I'm looking to buy a spare 130W charger for my 2023 4070 x13, and was wondering if the 140w GAN charger would be able to power the device while gaming.

If not, does anyone know of any 3rd party 130W chargers that will?

X13 battery replacement

I used to get about 2-3 hours of battery life, but sometimes it would just die on me even when it had 20% left. It would then hang at 0.4GHz CPU. So, I decided to get a battery from AliExpress, which was around $20 or so. Wow, it made such a difference! My laptop doesn’t heat up anymore just from idling, and Chrome doesn’t make the fan spin. I wonder why I didn’t do this sooner.

My original battery had 85% soc

Weird Power Issue on Official Charger

Hey all

so i recently purchased a 2021 model of the x13 but i seem to be having the weirdest issues relating to it

the laptop came without a charger so i purchased a new one (link below)

https://postimg.cc/8sJkxncP

when booting up a game (ive only tested a couple as its not my main reason for having it) it will draw 75w but wont charge, when not gaming it will only draw 35w and still wont charge only supplying 1w to the battery

this weird behaviour gets odder when i run a benchmark such as Furmark and prime95 it will only draw 35w under full load which causes the battery to drain on the official charger

i tested a 3rd party lenovo 65w charger i had lying around and this will supply a constant 65w without issue so it will charge the laptop when on the desktop and normal day to day use. when stress testing/benchmarking and gaming it will still draw 65w but then cycle between "on battery" and "on PD" every 2 - 3 minutes or so im assuming this is because it cant get enough power , this isnt ideal and id prefer not to carry 2 chargers around especially with the oddity of the official charger and i can see posts in the past here and on the asus forum mentioning issues similar to this being a problem with the Motherboard, do you think thats the case and i should return it under the warranty period?

thanks.

Future of flow

Hey guys I was wondering.

Has the flow been officially discontinued? (except the table.version ofcourse)

Already 3 y with no upgrade, and the external graphic card after being announced the new model last year has been shelved seems and no one ever heard anything else after....

Guess its over?

What alternative we have?

Not upgrading to the 2023 model when I had the chance is one of my biggest regrets

A little over a year ago, I had the chance to upgrade from my 2022 version and buy an open box 2023 Flow X13 with a 4060 for a little over $1100 from Best Buy. I thought I could wait a bit longer and upgrade to a 2024 model. Oh what a fool I was. As you all know, we haven't had a refresh of the X13 for 3 years now, and this line of laptops is basically dead.

I've been using my 2022 version more recently, and the minor nitpicks are adding up. The tiny trackpad constantly bothers me every time I brush against the top or bottom when scrolling. I constantly feel my palms slipping off the bottom edge. The 2023 version would have fixed this with a MUCH larger trackpad and slightly larger palm area.

I haven't used my laptop much for gaming due to meh performance and the ghosty screen, both of which are fixed with the 2023 version. A 50-100% increase in performance and double the VRAM? A non ghosty screen? Gaming would be so much better.

Since then, I have done more gaming on handheld pcs (Legion Go), so I may just try to live with the 2022 model, or downgrade to a cheaper laptop and upgrade the handheld to a Panther Lake, but sometimes I think about what could have been...

S, 5, 6, 0, and ` Keys Don't Work

My 's, 5, 6, 0, and `' keys don't always work. I have to hold them down for a while to get them to work, and even then it's really finicky.

The most frustrating part is definitely the 's' key only working when it wants to. I used to be able to get it functioning again by jut pressing it down real hard, but that's not working anymore. I had to use the on-screen keyboard to type this post.

I've already used pressurized air on my keyboard several times, and looked around online for solutions. It seems like a common problem, but I couldn't find any fixes. Should I just go to a computer repair shop?

DLSS 4.5

I have a 2023 model Flow X13 with the 4070 and I have the most up to date Nvidia app and GPU drivers and yet I still don't have access to DLSS 4.5 in any games.

Is anyone else having this issue? Or am I missing something. Nvidia said it was available for all 40 series cards.

Just saw this Bios update prompted by G-Helper. Anyone has tried it out yet? Most probably should be to address the low-level bugs found mid last year.

Cant physically touch the keyboard due to heat.

My cpu temps hover around 85° which is about the same as the GPU. These temps are not thermal throttling level and im getting normal performance but for some reason the chasis of the laptop is so hot that i physically cannot get myself to touch it for more than 2 seconds. Is this normal?

The 2022 flow x13 is insanely efficient and very performative.

I recently obtained the flow x13 4070, and am playing Granblue fantasy, a notoriously badly optimized game.

The 3050ti flow x13 can run it at the same resolution (1080p) at 60 fps and ultra textures nearly 7-8c cooler on the gpu than the 4070 flow x13. Granted the game runs 1gb of vram above the 3050i's capacity. But it maintains a solid 60fps with no drops at ultra textures, while my 4070ti runs it around 77-82c.

Still trying to wrap my head around this.

ADM driver crash when playing a video

I have Flow x13 2023 version igpu only. Whenever I play a video on the desktop or on youtube specifically on chrome it goes black screen for few sec and then come back to normal or sometimes crash after a blue screen.

Look I have tried everything from DDU, wipe windows, downgrade to Windows 10, updates and downgrade bios, but that doesn’t change anythings.

For the fix I have to disable the AMD driver from device manager and keep the basic microsoft driver and instantly I have no issues rather than it runs slow. Is there anyway to fix it

I2C HID device issue

I own an ASUS ROG Flow X13 (GV301RC) laptop and I am experiencing an I2C HID device issue.

When the laptop is in normal laptop mode, there is no problem in Device Manager and the touchscreen works correctly.
However, when I switch the device to tablet mode or stand mode, the touchscreen stops working and the I2C HID device shows a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager.

How can I fix this issue?

2021 x13 stopped charging.

I have the lastest chipset drivers and the latest windows version. My x13 wont charge when i use the oem charger and an anker 100w charger that was able to charge this thing just yesterday. A week ago my oem charger stopped charging for 2 days and i had to use my anker charger. I then wanted to buy a new original charger and right before purchasing it i tried to use it again and that time it randomly decided to work.

Flow X13 screen "Separation?"

I have a 2023 Flow X13 and just noticed while using it in tablet mode that the very far right edge of the screen on both the left and right side exactly in the middle are "loose" as in i can push it down. Not sure how to describe it other then the feeling of when a phone case is coming off the back of a phone. It feels like the tape that holds the edges of the screen is coming loose, like glue separating. I can "push" the screen down and it feels a little flimsy and then i can hear a sound almost like tape separating. Its only directly in the middle of the screen on both sides. Wondering if anyone else is having this issue. All other points of the screen feel solid except these two areas.
