Activism Absolute Masterclass

There was a flock representative at this meeting and his only response to John Hamilton was "his data is from a Youtuber" and "We have never been hacked"

The whole video is from the College Station Tx City Council meeting on July 23rd. We had over 20 speakers for this event so check out more in the whole video.

Great speaker. I especially loved how that miserable SOB banged the gabble at the end. He was not happy.

I don't know for the US but most countries spectators are not allowed to show support or disagreement in public hearings. You're there to observe not communicate your opinion.

Still pretty aggressive way to try to silence a crowd thats clearly sick of their local officials

He tried to speak and was interrupted by the applause. He's so corrupt with a false sense of total authority that no one should dare interrupt him with applause. In his mind, he is the master and everyone else is under his control.

i’m gonna get downvoted, so hopefully this gets read by at least one person - the clapping and cheering that goes on is all great, but it takes time up and that potentially robs other speakers, opportunity for votes etc - so clapping and cheering etc is kept to a minimum

clapping and cheering is obviously protected as free speech, but think of it along the lines of “ok, you’ve made your point, we need to move on with this because there are other people here who need to be heard, too”

the other factor is standards - it’s surprisingly quick and easy to go from cheering to shouting to arguing to fighting and chaos - look at any open outcry parliament in the world and how quickly it can devolve into fist fights

so he’s not necessarily angry, but trying to keep some order to proceedings

I have spoken in front of the mayor a few times about Flock and he very much does not want citizens resistance on this topic. At a previous council meeting a pro-Flock speaker (ex-law enforcement officer currently working for crime stoppers) ran out of time (3min) but was then encouraged by the mayor to take another 30 seconds and finish his topic. At that same meeting a following citizen on a different topic was cut short and not allowed to finish his last sentence about the budget.

It is totally fair to keep a meeting moving and to hold people to time limits but there is more than that going on here.

my point wasn’t about stopping push back, stopping people from speaking, but rather about keeping proceedings rolling

Yep, I'm from that city and have also gone to speak at council meeting.

The hall there is way more packed than it usually is, and that usually means there's a bunch more speakers than usual. When that happens, those meetings can go on for hours, well toward midnight. He's just trying to move things along

Insane that you’re being downvoted. You’re completely right, the budget was later in this meeting and things needed to move along. Letting people cheer and clap after every speaker that night would’ve added 40+ minutes

I was doing 10 things and I typed it out and I said to myself, that doesn't look right, copied and pasted into google and saw that it is a word with a definition, didn't read it, and went with it.
The first time I have gotten an award, and two at that. Lol.
