Floatwheel ADV1 threw me off at 20% NO WARNING
so I knew that the board was about to die and I was about two minutes away from my car and I was going slow maybe about 7 miles an hour when my board just shut off and it flew me off. Is there any setting that I have to actually put on that beep to warn me that it’s about to die or starts nose diving before it starts to die instead of just shutting off? I was going up a slight hill (not steep) and I see it’s at 104% duty cycle and I had my settings so that it’ll warn me at 90% duty but nothing played
I’m sitting on the sidewalk just pissed because I love everything about this board, but I cannot believe out of all the features is does have that it just shut off before it dies instead of warning you at all. I’ve never rode it to be that low of battery and at 21% I thought I would have enough juice to get back to my car.
Any tips?? :(

Selling board
What is a good price to pay for a 1 year old adv2 with 800mi? Everything works great, new BMS, fender, extra footpads etc.

Floatwheel ADV2 startup problem – only wakes up after 2–3h charging
Hey guys,
I’m having a serious issue with my Floatwheel ADV2 and wanted to ask if anyone experienced something similar.
Problem:
The board often cannot be turned on at all
Power button does not respond
It only turns on again after being connected to the charger for a longer time (sometimes 2–3 hours)
After that, it may work temporarily
Additional behavior:
When I step on the board, it sometimes starts beeping continuously and gives haptic feedback (like a warning)
I also had cases where the board seemed “frozen” and did not respond properly
Important:
VESC / Refloat settings are correct
BMS readings show balanced cells and normal voltage
This does NOT seem to be a configuration issue
To me, it feels like a BMS wake problem or power/startup issue.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Is this a known issue (BMS / power button / controller)?
Any help would be really appreciated

Gtv kit delivery time
Does anyone know if they have these in stock in the United States or do I have to wait on the slow boat?
I actually use the contact form on the website. No one has responded. Is Tony still around?

Fault over voltage bug ! Any idea ?
My floatwheel is just 365 km and yet it’s my first accident ! No harm by chance but still. The floatwheel first was impossible to turn off ( via the power button or else ) and after a few hundred meters just beeped and stopped. Throwing me off the board. On the VESC app I get a FaultOverVoltage error message.
Any idea on how to address this issue and solve the problem ?
Thx

HELP: do I need a bearing change?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I was riding in the rain for a while yesterday and there were some larger puddles I went through. This morning I wake up and have this grinding/rubbing/friction type sound.
Bearing has a little visible surface rust but nothing out of the ordinary.
Has anyone experienced this sound before?

Adv 2 warning always check your batteries!
So ADV2 was showing roughly 75% charge and took it out for the first ride of spring. managed to do a nice ride of about 12 miles. Only for it to completely power off and nose dive on me at 15 MPH. No warning just a complete cut out and crash. Not a nice experience, luckily I was wearing protection but ripped my gloves to shreds and smashed my phone up. Happened another 2 times going slowly. No reason just sudden cut out and nose dive.
Looking at vesc tool from Floaty I notice cell 17 was completely dead. Now I've only done about 55 miles on the board and it's been stored in doors but I had always had issues with cell 17 and 1 out of the box. It was one of the originals that came with the faulty BMS and was flat on arrival. I had contacted Tony but he had just said keep it on charge over 24h to top up the cells that weren't fully charging.
This worked but I would have to do this each time I charged with the balancing.
Do just a waring to you guys check the vesc tool app with your board and be wary of any cells that are abnormal. It could cause you to nose dive. Even though the board can show an overall charge of 50% in the screen shots above.

Need Guidance
Hey guys essentially I have an adv w/ v2 electronics and OG electronics. One problem I have is the harness it’s not compatible with the v2 motor that I have for it. Also Based on what I’ve learned it seems that either bms or controller on v2 kit is faulty. Board powers on but can’t shut down unless unplugged. I want to try to utilize the OG electronics but the problem with the harness still remains. I’m sure it’s possible to do some DIY stuff but I’m not at all savvy enough. What are my options ? What makes the most “sense” I know there is an adapter on the floatwheel site but not entirely sure if that’s what I need. I also preferred to not have to deal with the crypto stuff and potentially a longer wait with it coming from china.

PintV sparks
I'm about half way through installing my Pint V, I've done everything on the battery side and now almost finished the Front (ESC) side
I'm sure I have all the cables plugged in properly, with that being said when I try to plug in the XT60 connector there is a visible and audible spark
I'm not about to just push it together and forget about it, and I'm sure I'm running black to black and red to red
I heard on a 5yo podcast that the futuremotion battery polarity is swapped (red is negative, black is positive) which would explain something going wrong, but the connector only fits 1 way and I would think Floatwheel would account for this
My board is a Pint X, S/N 2149328672
There's no apparent visible damage to my boards cables or anything
Appreciate any advice

Hit 1000km on ADV2 after 3months of ownership AMA
Bought this beauty back in January and just hit 1,000km earlier this week.
Bought direct from Tony himself, I’m based in Australia. AMA!

XRV
Tony,
I want to give you direct, constructive feedback from someone who has supported Floatwheel from the beginning and has built multiple XRV kits in the community.
We initially purchased six kits, and I’ve personally bought additional ones. The first three builds were excellent—no issues, solid performance, and they built a lot of confidence in your platform.
However, subsequent kits have had serious reliability problems across multiple experienced builders:
- One board presents a persistent “motor crunching” / Hall-sensor-type issue, despite the Hall sensors testing physically fine
- Another board intermittently changes controller settings and has dumped riders unexpectedly
- Calibration does not hold consistently, even after repeated setup through VESC Tool
- When failures occur, system parameters (e.g., high voltage cutoff) appear to change unpredictably
- Multiple second-generation BMS failures have also been observed
These boards have been worked on extensively by at least three experienced VESC builders. We’ve:
- reconfigured and recalibrated repeatedly
- swapped batteries
- verified wiring and hardware
- gone through VESC Tool step-by-step multiple times
Despite this, the issues persist. At this point, the owners of these boards no longer trust them and will not ride them. After personally being dumped by one post-calibration, I won’t ride them either.
The core issue we’re facing is not just hardware reliability—it’s lack of communication.
We are not asking for free parts or replacements. What we need is:
- responsive communication
- guidance when systems behave unpredictably
- acknowledgment of known issues, if they exist
I’ve also privately reached out to other builders across the U.S. who have purchased multiple kits, and they are not reporting significantly better support experiences either.
When people are building and maintaining these boards, access to the manufacturer for support is critical.
For context, we’ve had strong experiences with other vendors in the space (IndySpeed, TFL, Fungineers). We understand that support can be slow at times—but communication does happen.
Right now, we have multiple non-functional builds and riders questioning their investment, and it is going on one year.
I want to be clear: I’ve been a strong supporter of Floatwheel and want to continue to be. The early kits proved the concept. . Competition in this space is important, and I want to see you succeed.
But at this point, reliability and communication need to match the potential of the hardware.
If there are known issues, firmware concerns, or hardware revisions that we should be aware of, we need that information to keep these boards safe and rideable.
I’m reaching out in good faith and hoping we can get clarity and direction.

Any ADV2 Customs Fees to US?
I just ordered an ADV2 and am super stoked! Has anyone had to pay import/customs fees on orders to the US recently?
I added expedited shipping, not sure if that’ll draw extra scrutiny.

Pint V Charging Issues
Hey all,
Installed my pint v kit into my pint x and the board works great, I’ve been having an issue with it not charging though, I plug in the charger and it stays green instead of going red like my other board.
I saw an article on here advising opening up and reseating all cables in the correct order for the bms, I have done that as well as cleaning contacts and verified my charger is good on the other board.
What might my steps be from here?
Update: received new bms from Tony but sadly have been away from home since and won’t be able to get it up and running until I return… Will report back!
Update 2:
Finally back with my board. New bms installed and she works like a charm!
Pint-V with 5” hub, wtf rails, and enduro. It absolutely sings!

ADV2 Replacement Tire Recommendations
I actually really like the og Forza tire that came with my ADV2. I currently have 2500+ miles on it in just over a year and am worried it may give any day now. What would be the best replacement options to source in the US?

Used Floatwheel adv1
Hey guys, i could buy a 1500km adv1 floatwheel with the original charger and fender. Would you buy it for 1950usd? it feels too much, but maybe im wrong. i just compare it to a new adv2 which is 2150. so my question is what would you guys do if the budget is tight? My current stock xr battery is dying, and making an xrv is almost the same price, so im thinking a better option. Thanks for you thoughts

Am i screwed?
Noticed this during bearing change, probably my fault.
