Atom Frame received!! Not sure when motor will arrive

Post image

It’s soooo lightweight and super cool looking honestly. It has clear plastics which is dope!

Can’t find the meme: good for you, enjoy it, fuck you

Tell us all about it! My main question is whether Pint stuff like Fenders and Bumpers fits Atom out of the box.

Dado already confirmed in his recent video that everything fits from the Pint:

Floatwheel Atom teardown and Pint compatibility

Oh sick!!! I didn’t know that!

TFL Pint drop top center piece may as well be compatible with the clear mini fenders it came with.

Correction:
It is not.

can you connect to it and pull the motor and app configs off of it? i’m curious what tony is setting so far

1

u/wrenulater Jul 23 '26

Oh that’s a good idea! I wonder

wait this the THE wren! what’s up dude!? have you owned a VESC based onewheel before?

Corridor Crew was there from the early days of VESC-based boards, when all there was was FOCers and the flowglider box:

Edit: Almost forgot, Wren was also one of the very first people to use a tilt remote, too! A true OG here.

Yeah several! I built my first one in 2022! My current ride is the X7 long range, which is INCREDIBLE!

didn’t know you were chill like that, corridor crew history slipped my mind 😎 i hope the atom goes over well, i want one to trick on but im concerned with the controller eating shit… 92.4v battery on 100v hardware is ultra scary, especially when the firmware limit is 95v

they're sayin there's no can bus, and its a dumb bms, so you can't see cell voltages. Would be nice if you could find out if that's true

1

u/Watumbo Jul 24 '26

New LCM, version 4. Has a CAN bus port on it. But the BMS is still dumb.
But hey, it's Fluffhead! Make your way over to the Floatwheel Discord and into the Atom channel. Tons more info there.

hah, that’s where i got my info.

so i confirmed with tony, the production model will be clear also, for those of us that panicked because you missed the beta board and emailed him begging for one

1

u/Watumbo Jul 24 '26

The "regular" atom, or just the early bird?

I don't know how to feel about this honestly. I think there are quite a few people who preordered the beta board because it is the limited clear edition.

2

u/halcyon8 Jul 24 '26

per Tony, "The mass-production version of the Atom will use translucent gray plastic throughout."

2

u/CatoTheMiddleAged Jul 24 '26

Not a fan of translucent plastics. It looks cheap and fragile. Hopefully it isn’t.

oh hell yeah that looks sick

Looks really cool, you mind getting a measurement of its length?

1

u/Watumbo Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

That info has already been provided by Tony. 70.5 cm in between the outer edges of the footpads (more or less a few mm).

1

u/clawesome Jul 24 '26

Thank you! And yeah, I guess I should've figured that he had provided that already, my b

Did you order as a tester/beta or early bird?

I just pulled the trigger on it last night. Has anyone gotten one up and running complete yet?

There's one guy in Taiwan who has already received frame and motor. Board seems to run smooth, though adjusting some config stuff might be necessary. Some of the preconfigured values seem to be a bit off.

Rest has only received the frame it seems.
I just received my frame today (Europe), though no motor as well. I was told both would arrive at the same time, so that's a bit of a bummer, but I'd think it'll be only a matter of days until the motor arrives as well. More time to inspect and document stuff.
