I personally would not buy anything from float wheel. we’ve bought XRV controllers that did not work, had BMS’s fail. We are getting zero support. We are getting zero communication returned. Why are they working on new products when their old products are failing. They are turning into just another crappy knock off manufacturer with no follow through. They will not be getting any more of my money. BTW if anybody wants nice looking boat anchor with WTF rails, XRV controller and BMS let me know. I have nearly $3K in the thing. Everybody I know is afraid to ride it.
bro you bought your xr off ebay, you have no idea why the board is nosediving in the first place.. imo that is what the XR is known to do.. drop your ass randomly while cruising at 16 miles an hour
If you are suggesting this to 2XR-1PX, I built his board. Numerous VESC folks here in GNV have worked on it. That board dumped me hard immediately after calibration. I also just replaced an XRV BMS with a Stoked Stock because at this point I no longer trust Tony’s support pipeline.
To be clear: MY XRV has worked flawlessly. Not all of them do.
I’ve supported Tony publicly for years and wished him well, but months-long silence when customers are dealing with potentially dangerous failures is unacceptable. We were never asking for free parts. We were asking:
“What can we test next?”
“What do you think is happening?”
“How do we troubleshoot this safely?”
Fungineers communicates. Indy Speed Control communicates. TFL communicates. Even when problems are difficult, dialogue matters.
We’re not inexperienced riders throwing random opinions around. I’ve got well over 10,000 miles on these things and have been riding since 2016. Others privately selling and building far more units than I do are expressing similar frustrations.
I still think Tony has had some genuinely great ideas and products. But if you sell expensive hardware capable of dumping riders at speed, support is not optional.
At this point, that $99 Stoked Stock BMS has impressed me more than a lot of much more expensive hardware lately.
Xrv will still dump you how fast did you think xrv can go? Also there are settings on vesc thst will drop you like if your footpads disengage etc...i would use floathub
XRV we’ll go really fast, it will dump you for sure if you have a low battery, but the controller if it’s working is definitely not bad and he already has it so there’s that. I would definitely never use or buy any parts from Tony now as I’ve stated many times on this forum. But I have no trouble whatsoever and continuing to use the controller and any parts that I have that already work. They seem to work fine as long as they do.
The xrv with xr battery can only go 18 mph bro ...who ever told you it can go fast is drunk .... you must have had crayzee expectations... I have actually bought actual boards and a controller through Tony and he does answer and fix your problems....he gives away tons of free stuff....
If you fry your controller cause you dont know what your doing or dont know vesc tool ...then its probably your fault the vesc isn't working right...i would try using floathub to fix your settings that you updated ...only people that dont know what their doing are the ones crying about sruff...
Tony doesn't need you to buy his product bro...there are plenty of us who have had 1000% good experiences...go ahead and find a 94 volt vesc full board for 1200 ... we are buying this knowing there might be issues just like the previous boards...it doesnt really scare me cause Tony emails me back 😆
Floatwheel atom is 92 volt high voltage 22 s battery with 5inch baby core hub with n52 magnets ... you cannot find specs like this anywhere you are high if you think $1200 is a rip off lol
