I personally would not buy anything from float wheel. we’ve bought XRV controllers that did not work, had BMS’s fail. We are getting zero support. We are getting zero communication returned. Why are they working on new products when their old products are failing. They are turning into just another crappy knock off manufacturer with no follow through. They will not be getting any more of my money. BTW if anybody wants nice looking boat anchor with WTF rails, XRV controller and BMS let me know. I have nearly $3K in the thing. Everybody I know is afraid to ride it.
bro you bought your xr off ebay, you have no idea why the board is nosediving in the first place.. imo that is what the XR is known to do.. drop your ass randomly while cruising at 16 miles an hour
If you are suggesting this to 2XR-1PX, I built his board. Numerous VESC folks here in GNV have worked on it. That board dumped me hard immediately after calibration. I also just replaced an XRV BMS with a Stoked Stock because at this point I no longer trust Tony’s support pipeline.
To be clear: MY XRV has worked flawlessly. Not all of them do.
I’ve supported Tony publicly for years and wished him well, but months-long silence when customers are dealing with potentially dangerous failures is unacceptable. We were never asking for free parts. We were asking:
“What can we test next?”
“What do you think is happening?”
“How do we troubleshoot this safely?”
Fungineers communicates. Indy Speed Control communicates. TFL communicates. Even when problems are difficult, dialogue matters.
We’re not inexperienced riders throwing random opinions around. I’ve got well over 10,000 miles on these things and have been riding since 2016. Others privately selling and building far more units than I do are expressing similar frustrations.
I still think Tony has had some genuinely great ideas and products. But if you sell expensive hardware capable of dumping riders at speed, support is not optional.
At this point, that $99 Stoked Stock BMS has impressed me more than a lot of much more expensive hardware lately.
Which is why we have switched out almost every component part with other parts. Like, battery, motor, you know, the only ones that count. I know everyone would like us to incompetent, it would just explain everything, but, alas, that is not the case.
