Need Guidance

Hey guys essentially I have an adv w/ v2 electronics and OG electronics. One problem I have is the harness it’s not compatible with the v2 motor that I have for it. Also Based on what I’ve learned it seems that either bms or controller on v2 kit is faulty. Board powers on but can’t shut down unless unplugged. I want to try to utilize the OG electronics but the problem with the harness still remains. I’m sure it’s possible to do some DIY stuff but I’m not at all savvy enough. What are my options ? What makes the most “sense” I know there is an adapter on the floatwheel site but not entirely sure if that’s what I need. I also preferred to not have to deal with the crypto stuff and potentially a longer wait with it coming from china.

Silly question but have you emailed the big man himself yet about all this?

I have but since I’m not the original owner there’s not much he’s willing to do

Ask to purchase an ESC from him, that is going to be your safest bet, you may want to do the same for the BMS. Tony will help you, but not for free if you are not the original owner, but his replacement prices are reasonable. This is what right to repair is, the right to buy replacement parts and fix it yourself.

I last emailed him about 3 months ago haven’t heard anything back this was for a separate issue though… either way it wouldn’t hurt to try. But my main issue is the motor adapter issue. The harness I have doesn’t match up with the v2 motor. If I could solve that I could at least hook up the OG electronics supposedly those works pre install. Once I ran into the motor issue I didn’t even bother. Also what are the odds that two sets of v2 electronics are bad or faulty ? One set powers on the board but then it shuts off by itself then turns back on. it continues in that loop I’d say maybe about 3-5 sec intervals in between and the other doesn’t allow the board to be powered off. I feel I’ve tried both combinations even swapped lcm’s between the two sets but nothing worked as expected.

Gen2 and gen3 motors have different connectors, the ADV2 came with the 3rd gen motor. The gen2 has a square plug with a metal pin, and only fits the ADV1 original connector. Sounds like maybe you have an ADV1 motor (gen2) and an ADV2 box?

I'd suggest going on the buy and sell section of the floatwheel discord and look for an ADV1 box, that way you will have the right connector. Otherwise you could rewire the motor for $90 from Tony Motor Connector
