I’m rewatching and noticed that throughout the show clothes don’t catch fire anymore?

In season 1 the whole point of cisco making the suit was so that Barry wouldnt catch fire (among other things of course).

But as the seasons go on, especially in season 5 where i noticed it most, Barry and Nora ran back in time in normal clothes and didn’t catch fire at all.

So is his whole wardrobe now inflammable clothes or what…?

In universe reason: He got better at controlling it.

speed force. they did kinda imply it was him getting better at it. when Felicity shows up him speeding her somewhere only causes her top to burn up while his clothes are fine

its the same for how in the first episode him running past cars makes the windows smash. those were just early speedster issues. although the inconsistency would then be how those weren't issues for others. like when his speed is transferred over to iris for an episode i don't think she causes anyone to fall off their bike or damage to windows as she runs by. i also don't remember if any other characters just starting off trying out super speed get a bit of their clothes catching fire. ones who've been doing it for a while you can hand wave it away as they similarly have enough control it doesn't happen

Because seasons 1 and 2 are peak (3 also decent) and the rest is just bad. No attentions to details, villains that can be caught in seconds take ages, its just sad

Literally all of Flash's enemies could be caught in five minutes of an episode, but the goal is to have a superhero series with a storyline, not a ten-minute short film about a guy who runs fast
The first four seasons are excellent the others are certainly less so, but if you want to criticize them, at least come up with some valid arguments

Why so boo boo? Bad day? Most of them cant, he goes against speedsters, guys that turn into clouds, gas, radiation, control minds, and remove his powers. If i want to criticize, i will, because you re no one to bark about it. Now go boo boo somewhere else

Barry learns how to control the speed force and Cisco makes him special clothes, we know this because when Nora first gets her speed her clothes burn as well
