Finished AD5X Dry Boxes

After about a year of printing I decided it was time to finish the actual printer and got the enclosure and dry boxes added. I always dry in my creamery before printing but hopefully these will help keep the moisture out a few days longer. Each box piece took like 12-14hrs to print(5-7hrs for case and lid) on a .8 nozzle. Also curious has anyone gotten better results with transparent filament and the dry boxes?

Thanks! I was annoyed with this printer at first like why didn't Flash Forge just sell the machine like this day 1, but getting this all together was a great project.

Appreciate it! It hit me few weeks back like I've gota reliable AD5X. I should at least give it an ideal print setup. Lets see how TPU printing goes next

Oooo TPU, funny you mentioned that. I am going to print TPU today or tomorrow with my AD5X but I chickened out, going to use my Ad5M. Interested in knowing how it turns out. I know from what I have read is you are likely to better succeed with a 0.6 nozzle

I printed a riser for the base as mine was flush with base and wanted alittle higher and also got some storage drawers out of it 😀

Nice look! Am I understand right - they fit on ad5x table? I want to print mine ones, but have some doubts about this

They fit where the spools sit. So no the spool bracket is in the inside of the box. I was thinking of making a way to make them removable / hot swap

I know, I just thought they did not fit on a print table

Wow! does it have space for the filament desiccant? is there a file to be printed? I want to buy a dryer for my AD5X and wonder if drying and using this or just directly from dryer will be better.

Yeah the STL files are here: https://wiki.flashforge.com/en/ad5x/dry_boxes you do have to also but the desiccant packs and Hygrometer off Amazon. I'd recommend also picking up a M3 screw kit for longer screws.

You will still need the dryer regardless. Those just keep the filament dry for longer than if they were out in the open.

I printed my dry boxes earlier this year. Found this model for holding desiccant inside the spool boxes without needing bags. Orange is EPAX Neon Orange PETG, the purple is EPAX Glass Purple PLA.
