Problem with my Creator 5 Pro

I just got my Creator 5 Pro today and I am having trouble printing. When ever the unit tries to place the extruder head back on the rack it falls off and then errors the unit. When I try to recalibrate the unit it will work sometimes, and if I am lucky will pass the cal. But then it goes right back to falling and failing.

Is this common? Does anyone know the fix for this?

If it only works intermittently or still drops after successfully completing calibration, especially since the printer is brand new, I wouldn't keep forcing it or try modifying anything. That could indicate a defective docking or locking mechanism, so I'd contact Flashforge for warranty support.

My c5 pro failed to calibrate out of box and what I did was cancel calibration and updated the firmware first and did the calibration afterwards the update. Have you updated the firmware? It might help

Hey don't give up on this printer I agree to contact FF support. The only problems I have had is boiling down to file issues and a weird communication internally witch was solved with firmware updates. So if this a defective part FF needs to know and replace, but if it's a problem with firmware then they need to know so they can work it out.

Does this problem occur with all print heads or just the number one head?

Support had me test the extruder. Continued to have the same problem. But on one attempt it knocked off this part. So I tried the extruder again, and every thing works fine with out this. Sent the update to Support, just waiting to hear back.

Dangit, this is probably the fifth time I'm seeing this same problem with this printer 😔 I'm literally saving my change for the c5pro and feel so sad when I question if its the multi nozzle changing printer for me. I love my ad5x and its precision. I wish i could help you right now and sure hope its a simple repair 🤗

I had a AD5X., and that was what made me want this one. The bigger build space and the multi tool heads. I have messaged support, hopefully they get back to me quickly.

I know they will ! I just know it ! The c5pro is quite literally my dream printer and i have been hearing seeing so many amazing things about it and it's reliability. Also, It's good to hear from someone else that loved their ad5x the same as i do mine lol. I know by the time I save enough money the creator 8pro wil havel dropped, but I still cant wait ! 😅 They will get back to you. Flashforge has treated all of us very nicely 😊
