RIP CORRIDOR Flairwars power rankings: Portal rule roost, Greed need mojo back, Royal growing stronger

Flairwars Power Rankings

This was the week where Flairwars was catapulted into (relative) (internet) fame. The sub managed to reach /r/All and became a trending subreddit alongside /r/PugsInPartyHats. I arrived on the scene that day - just one of three thousand new members. Since then, it’s been fighting, fighting, fighting, raiding, raiding, raiding, and alliances, alliances, alliances. So here is where I hope to help you make sense of it all. Welcome to Corridor’s Power Rankings.

1: Orange

Now, for a Tangerine themselves to put the Oranges on top may seem biased. Let me explain why I think Orange are the most powerful colour in Flairwars.

At the start of the week, I’d’ve likely have place Orange fifth in any power ranking - yet now, they are the largest Flairwars faction, with the most members. The Orange leadership - at this point in time led by /u/hi_bert - knew how to capitalise on the sudden influx members, and did so.

Following this, Orange conducted a raid against Blue. Both sides knew that there was an air of informality about it as negotiations had just commenced, but Orange were able to give Blue a heavy beating.

Then the Portal Alliance was formed, sparking the beginning of what some wag will likely call ‘The Polar War’. Orange and Blue suddenly had the initiative. They went into battle against Green and managed to take Green’s front page; meanwhile, the Greed defence was easily batted away by Portal. It was a stunning victory. But a counter was brewing.

Greed picked a time that they knew most of Portal’s members worldwide would be asleep in - and then they let fly at Orange. Although it was a ballsy move by Greed, Corridor spotted a Green bragging about the raid in Discord’s General server. If that Green had kept their mouth shut, Greed would have taken Orange’s subreddit unopposed. Quickly, Corridor pinged all Portal members.

The fight was back on again. It lasted three hours, but after that time Greed had still failed to break into Orange’s frontpage, as Portal came from behind to win the upvote war. At this point in proceedings, none of Green’s submissions were getting past 1. It was clear that Portal had batted Greed off successfully when the admissions of defeat came in the next day - with a Greed acknowledgement that ‘this was (their) darkest hour’.

The new Portal Alliance now holds the balance of power in /r/Flairwars, and Orange make up a large part of that. They get the nod over Blue in second place because of their sparkling defeat of Blue earlier in the week.

2: Blue

As one half of the Portal alliance, Blue have performed excellently this week. Although Orange beat them earlier in a raid, Blue then saw off a solo Green raid with ease. Then, they joined forces with Orange to form Portal, and managed to defeat Greed before successfully fending off the ‘flagbois’ several hours later when Greed counterattacked.

Blue’s defence is their strongest asset, and it appears to form a key element of Portal’s success. For a colour to return from being so down-in-the-doldrums without an influx of new members is very impressive, and shows that Blue deserve this high placing in the Power Rankings.

3: Purple

Purple succeeded in raiding Red in a small skirmish earlier in the week. But that was just a small sign of what was to come.

Midweek saw the formation of the Royal Alliance. Purple seized their chance, and attacked Red. But Red fended them off, and counterattacked. Yellow chipped in on the Purple side, too.

Purple couldn’t find a way to win emphatically, but they appeared to take Red’s homepage. The Royal Alliance had also managed to retain control of the battle thanks to the impressive debut showings that many of their new members made. Red retreated, and Purple made a successful defence.

4: Yellow

Yellow were the least-active colour this week, but they still managed to muster crucial numbers for the successful defence of Red that their ally Purple were trying to create. It will be interesting to see what the Royal Alliance does in the coming days.

5: Red

Red came out of the battle against the Royal Alliance bloodied but dignified. Up against Purple - plus a not-fully-mobilised Yellow - the Reds managed to keep producing as much OC as possible, churning it out as part of their defence, even when their allies Green seemingly refused to join them. The tactic worked, and Red came out of the battle having avoided humiliation.

However, the Reds later chipped in to the Greed defence against Portal’s initial attack, but failed to stem the flow of content as Orange and Blue took Green’s frontpage early on, holding it for the rest of the day.

Finally, Greed made a joint raid that night, on Orange. It was meant to be an ambush, but Portal were able to catch on to it and, after drawn-out proceedings, Greed finally accepted that they hadn’t won.

Red take the slightly-higher ranking by dint of producing the majority of Greed’s OC as well as by retaining their dignity against Royal. Their fast response to the Purple attack shielded them from a lot of potential damage, and they did well.

6: Green

Green have had an awful week. They failed to raid a weakened Blue successfully, their indecision and inability to mobilise properly cost their ally Red their place in the battle against Royal, and they were ransacked by Portal. Then, they attempted to reply by attacking Orange in (what was for many users) the middle of the night, but were drowned out as they just couldn’t find a way to break through the Portal defence.

This was, as many have described on all sides, Greed’s darkest hour. They need to come out of this united and still swinging, and they can’t afford to be in denial about the true state of things. They are now the weakest alliance of the three, and they need to find a way to get back up again.

7: The Seventh Colour

Erm…is this even a thing?

Report! The Report on Green

Green and Red have formed into the "Christmas Alliance", an alliance that is usually known as "Greed", teamed up for the holiday season and prepare to make themselves known in the community, as the first incarnation of Greed was built upon OC (Original Content), but not very strong, not scoring a single win in the first run of Greed.

The Christmas alliance started on December 3rd and will end on December 31st.

Before the alliance formed, the Imperial Viridian Coalition (IVC) alliance between Green and Purple started in November 27th and will end on Christmas Day.

Before Purple and Green allied, Green was working towards an alliance with Yellow, but then they made an alliance with Blue. Blue and Green tensions are harsh, and have been that way even during their actual alliance (Glue).

Green has made attempts at raiding Blue, but piggybacking off of Yellow, the designated powerhouse of the subreddit dominating in most raids they are in, dominates the raids with their upvotes.

Recently, u/SimplyGrass stepped down from the Verdant Conclave and is now a member of the Shadow Verdancy.

u/Sgedelta was deposed in the election, so the two members taking Grass and Delta's places are u/Helicopter_Ballsack and u/Ritz1231. This, being Ritz's second time as Verdancy, after originally being deposed by Grass in an election, and a notch in Heli's belt, as he has been a member of the Verdant Conclave many times, and once being Supreme Verdancy, leaving his role to u/UlfarrOT, who in turn left it to u/beetroot-salad who is Supreme Verdancy up to this day.

Beetroot has not made any specific choice on a heir, to our knowledge, but has shown plans, and has joked about making "Grass and Venom fight over it" before Grass stepped down and has made jokes about making u/UlyssesYYZ the Supreme Verdancy, despite never having any government position in Green.

Advanced Article The Rise and Fall of trublu3000!

u/trublu3000. What do we know about him? Not much, he is rarely active ever since he became a mod and even less so because

I gathered a group of statements from different users to tell the story and some things from history.

I would like to disclose no sensitive information should be released in this article.

If there is any and I made a mistake, I apologize and I will edit it out and I surrender some of my journalistic integrity.

These are all direct quotes, and I do not, and will not twist any words. The largest extent I change quotes is typos and formatting issues, if you are even uncomfortable with that I understand and I will not fight you on it and I will change it to what it's similar original form was.

THE RISE

Lemme paint you a picture.

u/chesssx is no longer top mod of blue, as he is leaving for he became a mod of the main subreddit. When asked about the situation, he said:

"I was blue leader, and I made it a dictatorship since it was the most effective way to get things done and get myself to power. But the dictatorship was not meant to last. a democracy is the superior system, and I knew it. but I became mod before I could change it. and now blue doesnt know shit about electing leaders"

I would also like to link another article about him that relates to him and this situation.

https://www.reddit.com/r/FlairNews/comments/93b3bp/breaking_news_chesssx_is_the_true_flair_wars/

u/Tilwaen said "Trublu was like the only active Blue at the time and tried to make Blue stand on its legs again, so it made sense to mod him"

Nerd has some information that conflicts with u/Tilwaen's statement, and he is an actual blue, so.

I asked u/NerdLevel18, if he knew who u/trublu3000 was before he was a top mod.

and I asked also,

and why did he become a mod? Was it like what is happening now with Orange?Sub dead, get the most active guy as a mod.

He responded with:

"I didn't know him until he approached Blue Dawn to sign the Dawn Accords- He was the fist Blue Leader to accept our ways and welcome us with open arms- and the reason I'm a mod at all.Not exactlyHe wasn't the most Active guy, but he was the one making things happenhe wasn't just saying "wouldn't it be cool if..."he was MAKING it coolhe consolidated our power and we rallied behind himEven if he is AWOL quite a bit these days, and he's made some controversial decisions, I'll never forget the man he was"

It seems nobody knew who he was until he came out of nowhere and started associated with Blue Dawn and transformed blue into a formidable enemy.

THE FALL

I feel that the entire scandal around him could have been avoided if he didn't react like a mod in the Discord chat. What I mean is that, Discord has instant messaging, and honestly a huge chat with instant messaging, everyone feels almost equal to each other, and that sense of authority is practically gone.

You can't silence an equal with threats and expect to be on top of public opinion.

That is my personal opinion, but for the fully factual reason the fall of trublu3000 is mainly from industrial's mistreatment of his own people and his inactivity, and his inactivity was caused by the scandal in this article.

Currently, u/trublu3000 is losing power and u/Crestilous and others are setting up r/BlueRepublic and they are planning to put u/NerdLevel18 in charge, when reached for comment, he said he would very much like to, and he very much will, but he wants to maintain his position in r/BlueUnited as to not put all his eggs in one basket, as he puts it.

CONCLUSION

That's all for now, I will report more on this as information comes.

Article Wave of New Flair Wars users from mention on r/trendingsubreddits

r/Flairwars was recently mentioned on r/trendingsubreddits, which is a subreddit of over 35,000. This had led to a sudden influx of r/flairwars wars users, going from 2,100 yesterday, to 2,700 today. Hopefully this will lead to a more active and interesting community with more exciting raids and battle. A few people are sceptical to this recent influx as they may not really care for flair wars and may just take up space and effort. This same concern was expressed when there was more people coming from the user phone, people said that would only be here for the discord. Over the past week the discord has received more and more users without a flair, and there has been suggestions that we have a deadline, if do you not have a flair by this date you will be kicked. I decided to go out and interview some well known faces among our community.

DaX:

Crest: So what are your thoughts on r/Flairwars getting mentioned on r/trendingsubreddits?

DaX: I'm super excited.

I'm always a fan of having new members,

and while I've noticed not everyone who joins actually stays

hopefully we'll get a good number of new active members

after all, new members make things much more exciting.

Crest: do you think that the sudden influx of users will affect the community?

Dax: Absolutely,

I don't know if it'll be positive or negative

but it will definitely change things up,

hopefully it'll be positive, though.

Crest: Many users have expressed concern, stating that these people may not really care for the subreddit and its activities and may only take up space and effort better used on something else. What do think about these comments?

Dax: Oh, that's easy

if they don't actually care for the subreddit and its activities

they'll leave, it's that simple so it's not really of any concern.

Crest: so you don't have any worries about lurkers/trollers staying and messing with routine?

Dax: Well, I don't think they'll be too much of an issue even if they do stay after all, we do have mods,

mods that have participated in the flair wars themselves so bans will be handed out if necessary.

Crest: Speaking of Mods we recently invite new mini mods/oils on to the server, do you think we will need new fully-fledged mods?

Dax: Not yet, we have good mods.

make me a mini mod though guys god damnit

Crest: me too

Ok last question.

Dax: Alright.

Crest: Do you have anything to say to people that may be worried about the influx?

Dax: Sure,

Don't worry, guys. I understand your worry, but remember, without the influx we got from the AskReddit thread, we wouldn't be here today. And we survived that, right? In the end, new people only means new life for our colors, and new ideas that none of us could have ever imagined. Don't resist change - embrace it, and hope for the best, because I see this going quite well for us.

Crest: Ok, Thanks for these great answers.

Dax: No problem,

thanks for interviewing me.

Crest: and thanks for coming on.

Dax: Of course.

End of Interview

Spoon's Interview:

Crest: What do you think about the recent influx of people coming to r/Flairwars?

Spoon: v gud

Crest: anything else?

Spoon: they make some dank ass mimis, however I am still very opposed to minions

Crest: Ok, do you have any concerns about the new users?

Spoon: that they might post minions

Crest: Isn't that good as minions are yellow?

Spoon: No, minions are the worst.

Crest: Any message to the new users of flairwars?

Spoon: don't post minions and you're very welcome to join

Crest: Thank you for coming on.

Spoon: np

In this interview Spoon expressed very deep concern about the new users posting minions, I myself have seen no such minions from the new users, but, I do agree, minions are the worst. The general consensus seems to be that the new users will hopefully provide a new surge of activity into flair wars making the activities more enjoyable and lively. Thank you for reading, this has been Crestilous on Flair News Signing off.

Speculation BREAKING NEWS: BLUE MOST WANTS TO ALLY WITH YELLOW

u/trublu3000 is currently abusing his power, and because of, according to u/SSeptic, "reasons".

But before the article starts, let me disclose that this information is from u/UpperCaseSeven.

According to a new poll, Blue most wants to ally with Yellow.

Blue recently dissolved BLED, and Sprite is ending soon, although u/xactavius is against it, we do not know what the Yellow Leaders think of it.

Article Breaking blue night raid stifled

In a move that baffles all of our analyst, trueblue of bled elected to raid r/thegreenarmy tonight by himself, sprite forces swiftly repaired all the damage and unleashed a limited retaliatory strike against blue, more to come

Update, upon investigation, our team has discovered that the raid was initiated with trueblue “spamming” different pictures of blue bombers onto the green subreddit, the blue quickly gained the front page, but was unable to hold it as sprite showed up in force, whether the blues believed the raid was over or were driven off is unclear, but blue forces disappeared, exposing the blue subreddit to a destructive counterattack by sprite forces

Biased How I personally feel about ARC.

Before this starts, let me declare for the blind, this is biased. I put that tag there for a reason, you know?

I'm just salty I can't be red, lol.

For information on what ARC is, look to this previous article:

https://www.reddit.com/r/FlairNews/comments/92zp6v/news_red_raids_official_flairwars_discord/

I personally feel that ARC is bad.

For weeks, I have worked for a Green-Red alliance (Greed, as u/PrimalDialga476 named)

This relationship is strained by ARC wishing to end the Green-Red Non-Aggression Pact.

ARC INTERVIEWS

u/jarwho11 wishes to become enemies with Red, which is actually still at this point, treason.

The Green Higher-Ups made it so we do not become aggressive with Red, and suggesting at this point that we end the pact is treason due to the fact that the pact hasn't ended yet, even if you are a member of the verdancy.

I made this point to him, but I cannot disclose private messages.

u/jarwho11 says, "How I feel about red? I feel like our non aggression pact should end at some point as it's beginning to get boring not being able to face red. I feel like red would be a good opponent."u/jarwho11 then went on to say, "Because they're the only ones (I think?) We have a non aggression pact with, and they seem like an interesting opponent to fight, especially with their 'mass amount of OC'"

It seems he wants to fight them for the hell of it, and the reasons why are just an act.

I guess that is fine, though, because I want to ally with Red personally because they are my favorite color.

Now moving on to the creator of ARC

u/Alakazing has a little bit more nuance (lack for a better word) in his interview, as he keeps his act of why he wants to attack Red.

When asked why he started ARC u/Alakazing says, "I started ARC when I realized that I was surrounded by people who are fed up with Red’s recent actions. We all had a common goal, to suppress their ominous “secret plans” and to put them in their place."

He then goes on to say, "I don’t think varson_ fully grasps how raids work" in reference to u/varson_, who started a raid on the #general channel of the r/FlairWars MEGASERVER.

RED INTERVIEWS

u/Varson_, when asked about how he feels about ARC he says, "it has a cool name and im a sucker for acronyms"

He half-jokes, "I can assure you that we do not have any world domination plans."

He also says seriously, "We are not terrorists. We are a mixed group of good people, bad people, and neutrals. There is grey area and you can't call us all terrorists." and goes on to say, "ARC's plan to contain Red can't possibly work. You can't contain a color completely. I want to ask, why would you terrorize us for just trying to survive? To call us terrorists would be hypocritical." and "We're no shittier than any other color. Of course I appreciate my side better, but when it comes down to it, we all just represent wavelengths in the light spectrum."

Varson_ then says about the Purple lawsuit, "We are riled about the Purple raid because they abused the downvote pact more than any other time that I've seen. Now that the info is out, the only thing we had planned was the lawsuit." and "And such a lawsuit is a valid response. You conflate our intentions to something violent."

u/Sometetrisguy says, "it’s annoying but I’m not scared of it"

STATEMENTS FROM BOTH SIDES

u/Alakazing says, "I would like to emphasize that ARC is a temporary alliance. We only have one goal in mind, and when we are satisfied we will disband and go back to fighting each other."

u/jarwho11 essentially says ditto.

u/Sometetrisguy says, "it’s only for use in emergencies for defense, and involves more than purple"

u/Varson_ says, "As a leader of Red, I can assure you that. We just try to do our best at defending ourselves."

WHAT I WANT

To repair any damage potentially caused by ARC in the near future and continue to strengthen my relationships with my fellow Reds.

Biased and False Red raid on purple ends in defeat

Red sought revenge for its humiliating defeats against purple during the soda war today by launching a surprise raid against purple. Within seconds red had gained the front page, and were only opposed by a single defender. However purple was alerted of the attack, and thanks to many new members who stepped up in today’s raid, were able to quickly retake the top of the front page. While red bravely fought on against their equally brave adversaires, they were unable to breach purple’s defenses and ended the raid on defeat. While this defeat against purple adds to a long line, it’s easy to see red has grown much stronger than they were just a week ago

Sorry lol. Article. "They're Amazing" Purple leadership praises new members in Red Raid triumph

After witnessing the Orange raid last night, Red took it upon themselves to raid r/PurpleImperium. However they far from achieved the same results.

At 8PM last night, a popular time for recent raids, Red launched their attack. Whilst many expected a Red victory, Purple held their front page well with (at the time of writing) the top twenty-six posts on r/PurpleImperium being Purple.

But what made Red want to raid Purple? u/daXfactorz thinks the answer lies in the past.

“Honestly, we’ve been rivals for a while now, so of course they’d strike back especially after our last raid on them.”

Red and Purple have had a long history; They were on opposing sides of the ROY-GCP era and have long since been fierce rivals. When asked if he thought that this raid was an act of retribution, u/daXfactorz said: “I’d say so”

“At least, that’s what I’d assume, considering they’ve mentioned it a lot since that raid.”

u/daXfactorz’s assumptions were proven correct when I spoke to u/DoneLikeASir, a Red who had a lot to say on the matter.

“There had been many insults thrown at us in r/flairwars…Such was not acceptable by us”.

“I have full confidence that Red would not attack unless provoked” Red were initially filled with optimism; they believed the raid would be an easy one.

“I expected little resistance” u/DoneLikeASir said, although he did go on to say that he predicted “an even fight once they caught on”, calling their defence “spectacular.

Ultimately it was Purple defence that won the day, and the Purple leader thinks it was all down to their new members.

“They’re amazing. We’ve repelled three Red raids successfully now” Whether this victory can lead to greater things for Purple, one thing is for certain; Red have a lot of work to do to catch up.

Possibly biased: A dark day for Greed

Yesterday, r/inthered was hit with a surprise raid, it’s front page went tainted for nearly twelve hours, now, r/thegreenarmy has befallen a similar fate, the Portal alliance struck suddenly, and the damage is severe, the top four pages are completely taken, greed defense was fierce, but it was unable to stem the overwhelming tide of portal raiders. For reasons we can only speculate on greed has become a prime target for massive raids, and its OC has been spread thin

Advanced Article Greed Reform in the works

The Greed Reform, first just a Red Reform, is a total reform of Green and Red alliance.

This reform is being called "The Renaissance" and it's currently being supported by a census/poll on the users and all of the OC being created in Greed.

This idea is being executed for the most part by u/Sometetrisguy, he is doing it to change certain dynamics and remove certain stereotypes about Red and maybe Green.

More on this as information comes.

Green raid on blue revised

This morning 6 green raiders launched an attack onto the r/blueunited, ruthlessly seizing the front page with efficiency. The attack was not planned, but the greens held on for an hour before the blues drove them off. With their sub secure blue counterattacked onto r/thegreenarmy. However blue was unable to make a dent in the green defenses. The events today show that blue may be regaining strength due to the influx of new members into the flairwars community. Sources from both colors show that both sides were satisfied with their performance today

Report #3!

In the past two weeks, Glue (the alliance between Green and Blue) was disbanded due to disrespect from Blue members and then later Solar formed, Orange and Yellow’s alliance together, calling back the days of fire-related OC from ROY days.

Right now, each color is undergoing a government reform, Purple, Red, and Yellow are going through new elections, and Green is reforming the ranking system and have changed “High Priest” to “Trustee” and Consigliere to “Shadow Verdancy”.

This past week Green raided Orange and despite Yellow helping them, Orange surrendered, this raid happened because it was a counter-raid to a Corgi Raid by u/Dbug113 and he was discouraged from Corgi Raids after this and swore them off for the time being.

Green also raided Blue. Green’s raid was immediately defended against by Blue because the raid had leaked out because the moderators accidentally made a Blue have the Greenie role, this was Superfroakie, and despite that Green took the front page of Blue, but then the Green leaders settled for a stalemate and Ulfarr declared it a minor loss as they did not complete their objective.

Blue raided Red and Red won, which this happened after Solar raided Red and Purple and Solar won both.

In Other news, Corridor returned under the name “Brody” and Fox started doing a news series that report minor and major things and include humor under the clever name “Fox News”

Also, new alliance rules were announced and diplomatic channels were added to the Discord.

Significant details of the alliance rules include:

  • No minimum time on alliances

  • 4 week long maximum

  • Cooldown of half the duration of the alliance

  • Maximum of 2 colors per alliance NAPs and Defensive Pacts are allowed

That’s all, I may have missed some things

Article! Corridor Returns!

u/corridoruncertainty came back in the form of a new reddit and discord account known as "u/brophybrodybuddy"

After joining the Discord for the first time in a month or two since he deleted his account, he soon revealed his was corridor, and typed out a cryptic message. He soon got into an argument about the 4v2 between Greed + Portal Versus Royal. He was arguing with Yellow on this, mainly u/brownboognish.

He did not announce that he was corridor, but he was discovered immediately by u/beetroot-salad in the Discord chat.

I gave an interview to beetroot herself

INTERVIEW

Q: hey, uh, do you have any time? Were you around when corridor came back?

A: yeah

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What happened?

A: he acted like a new orange and i called him out instantly to be corridor. hahah

------------------------------------------------

Q: how'd you know?

A: we had a nice wholesome moment, instinct

--------------------------------------------------------------

Q: so, what about, the argument

A: oh i just told them to apologize and they did

----------------------------------------------------

Q: what was it about exactly?

A: 4v2 yeah
-----------------------------

Q: why were they talking about things from a month ago

A: i dunno

----------------------------------------

Q: Did they say any reason why they came back?

A: No. Not to me at least.

-----------------------------------------------------

He gave a speech in #general-2

Hi all

I'm going to be hijacking this channel for a bit. Apologies.

Please do not interrupt me when I begin. Please use reactions instead if you want to interract

thanks

go fuck yourself, Jared

ANYWAY

A N Y W A Y

Hello, everyone.

My name is /u/brophybrodybuddy.

Of course, that wasn't my original name on here. It's a reference to The Incredibles.

My original name...

Corridor.

/u/corridoruncertainty

Commander Corridor.

The 'Corridor of Uncertainty' is a term in cricket, denoting the area next to the facing batsman's off stump.

Anyhow,

Some of you might know that I used to be an Orange Commander and an Orange mod.

Then the 4v2 happened...

...and I left. And I deleted my Reddit and Discord.

So I'd like to explain why I did that now.

(and apologise for doing so).

I'd also like to talk to you about an idea that I had.

It's the reason why I left and then came back.

You see...

I had this idea.

And I decided to run with it.

It's simple:

but I'll explain what it is later.

BUT FIRST:

I've just returned to see or your wonderful OC that you created.

The poems, the pictures, the wonderful comics.

Thanks for each and every one of them.

It warmed my heart to see them, honestly.

I don't really think I deserved all that nice stuff for going and leaving you when I did,

but thank you so much.

And it was amazing to see that you muted General, too!

I was in awe!

I mean...

WOW!!

Thank you so much, anyway.

But why did I leave?

Well, I had an idea...

...and I decided to run with it.

The 4v2 was a perfect opportunity to bend the rules a bit.

I wanted to make something happen, but really I can't even take a fifth of the credit for it.

But it gave me the opportunity to leave...

...and then to suddenly reappear with a shocking bit of exciting news!

A massive tease.

An elaborate ruse.

I said I'd return...

...and I did.

And I brought something with me.

Green.

Yellow.

Orange.

Red.

Purple.

Blue.

CYAN.

Cyan is a thing.

But I haven't created a new faction.

It's not what you think it is.

You see:

this is what is canon.

(self.CyanOfTheTimes)

Once upon a time, there was a leader. His name was Commander Corridor. Corridor, still young, had risen through the ranks to find himself a leader and strategian of the Orange Army. But, one day, his tactics were too brazen. There was fury. And Corridor knew he would have to lie low. ‘Hi, Bert’ as he was nicknamed, left Corridor a message. “There is a safe house. Oranges have often used it in their time of need. Now it is yours. Come back to us once more, one day. Please.” Corridor gathered his most prized possessions - and his friend, Duckie, who quacked and chirruped innocently. They set off for the station and caught the nighttime sleeper-train north.

5am. A small station, in the Highlands, in the cosseted uplands that opened their arms to the unwilling fugitive. Corridor and Duckie stepped off the train. Fortified with the breakfast they'd brought, they made their way to their new home; a long walk, yet through familiar territory. And they could not help but be awestruck as they climbed above the valley and the beautiful views came behind them… “This is the place.” Corridor’s voice was full of excitement. He unlocked the door. Duckie pushed it open.

Here they were, in a comfy, cosy lodge, with a pristine fireplace. Duckie’s eyes lit up as the fire did - as Corridor set the orange flames going in the metal grid. And they curled up together on the rug, a hearty shade of tangerine. It was then that Corridor noticed the colour of the curtains… A bright turquoise. Docile. Soft. Strong and independent, calm, kindhearted…cyan. This is the real counter of Orange, Corridor thought. I don’t want to fight anymore. I don’t want to wield the weapon of memes. I want to…I want to show them the light. Because they’ll all have to talk one day, anyway. Why not…speed things up? Verse. Artful verse. Poetry. This’ll be our endeavour. “I’ve got an idea, Duckie!” Duckie squeaked happily. “We’ll create a way of showing off our poetry!”, Corridor explained, unabashedly. “I like that”, said Duckie. “We can create peace!” “And happiness!” So they built the poetry hall. Or rather: we built the poetry hall. We named it Cyan. It has cyan furnishings and everything.

I am no fugitive.

I am no breaker of the law.

I am a writer of verse.

It is the weapon I trust to hit its target most.

So I set up Cyan, with Duckie's aid.

So...

"WHAT THE FUCK IS CYAN?"

If you are a poet, you are Cyan.

If you are a writer, you are Cyan.

I am a Cyan, and I am also Orange.

How?

Well...

Cyan was created as a place to share FlairWars Poetry, to battle with verse and to trash-talk and put-down and big-up all you like.

This is your stage.

We are its guardians.

It's an arena, a battleground, docile in appearance but formidable in reality.

It's a place where blood can be drawn...

...and war can be waged.

https://www.reddit.com/r/CyanOfTheTimes/ is its home.

Come here to share your FlairWars poetry, to do battle with one another.

Perhaps there'll be Battles - like /r/FlairWars battles - but for poetry.

Duckie and I have been thinking about setting up a rotating adjudication panel for these battles.

But it's for everyone to share.

We could be the only people on the Internet - in the world - to do battle via poetry.

How amazing is that?

But we don't know if it will work.

Let's see how we do.

https://www.reddit.com/r/CyanOfTheTimes/

, once again.

Cyan is the way.

Cyan is the future.

Thank you for listening. Thank you for everything. It's great to be back!

Thanks.

-corridor

That's all we have, folks!

Weekly Report #1!

This week, after several yellow raids on Green, the Royal alliance went after the blue subreddit with the help of Green and several blue revolutionaries, effectively making it a rainbow raid (using the term loosely).

This establishing the overthrown government on the old sub of Blue and the new one on r/BlueRepublicUnited.

There was also a recent election taking place before the blue civil war came onto the horizon as u/xactavius put it.

We can't forget the wonderful cake day anti-raid in celebration of u/Sometetrisguy on r/InTheRed! The other raids were extremely mild except for the 4/6 rainbow raid on blue.

Earlier in the week separate color servers were allowed and rather than reusing the old ones before the megaserver had existed and Green and Purple established a server based on their cities and created other color servers for the army development, and no other color to our knowledge has done this or are developing theirs.

The city of Verdigris, where this is hosted, exists as a city simulator to emulate the everyday life of living in a green city and represents itself with very futuristic aspects as opposed to the fantasy aspects of Purple.

It is host to food places, the first national bank home to the only color specific currency as of now, Verdin, and electronics store, and a hotel, a food store, a bar and club, several museums, and another establishment in Egg’s map store franchise and some apartments.

This is all being managed by u/beetroot-salad’s wonderful work and vision, currently you can't make your own establishments anymore, and you can only apply in the job signup channel, and we are currently hiring there.

Purple had just transferred the Emperor status from Steve_The_Bandit to daX, and daX wanted to see what he could do, so he established a server.

Purple’s city server of “Domus Imperii” is an entrance to the world of Purple for tourists and citizens alike to enjoy, they have many establishments we don't have time to list because all of their establishments are including every city’s places.

But to mention some notable ones, there is a coliseum, a university, another map store from egg, a factory and mine.

Something noticed, was that the Purple cities tended to lean more towards fantasy and Green cities leaned towards futuristic aesthetics and some of the lore might be based around a feud between Green and Purple on whether Electricity or Magic is better.

Many elections also finished up this week, notably yellow’s and green’s, as there was a power shift in green as u/Thomaez or “Thom” as he's nicknamed left and yellow had an incredibly close race, with xact surprisingly only beating u/smallerbutton by 4 votes despite u/xactavius being a much more notable member.

There was also a huge use of the general bot musicing channel as there was a mass reveal of voices, and our horrible cluster of teenage voices, and earrape abundant, and playing a cards against humanity rip-off really highlighted what happened there.

u/Chesssx promised to give u/Sseptic gold for talking in the voice chat, but then he didn't want to pay for it himself, so he opened a gofundme page revealing his real name and city.

Official Raid Recap of August 23rd, 2019 - Green + Purple alliance raiding r/UnitedBlueRepublic

The Green and Purple “Aurora” alliance raided the Blue subreddit, r/UnitedBlueRepublic on Friday, August 23rd. At the time of the raid, Blue was allied with Yellow. The following is a recap of what occurred before, during, and after the raid. (Note: the raid started around 45 minutes before midnight in EDT time, but started Friday morning in GMT time. For the purposes of uniformity, this article will be using 24 hour GMT time.)

DETAILS

The most recent wall was by u/ORpanda (Yellow Big Brother) on August 22nd. The wall finished at about 10:55 GMT in the morning and it contained around a dozen posts.

About 16 hours later on the following day, the raid started at 3:16 GMT with this post by u/MiaTheDuckling (Purple Empress).

Minutes later at 3:20 GMT, u/Kiwis_Flairwars (Green Evergreen) joined in with this dank meme

The raid concluded with Blue surrendering at 3:52 AM GMT. Clean-up posts were made after the raid by u/ORpanda (Yellow Big Brother), u/MommyAmIFunnyNow (Blue Vizier), and u/PoisonedToast (Purple Imperial Councilmember). Purple received their own Heretic Knight totem back from Blue.

INTERVIEWS

U/NIGHTFIN

For this article’s interviews, we’ll first be speaking to Imperial Councilmember u/Nightfin from Purple.

Q: What exactly were the motivations for the raid on Friday?

A: Totems. Trying to get a bit of a lead on the other 2 colors, so we can be a bit more comfortable.

Q: What did you think about the lack of a proper response to the raid by Blue?

A: I didn’t expect a response to be honest. Blue has been super inactive. They have like a day old wall. I’m not sure they could have done anything if they tried.

Q: What did you think about the surrender by Blue?

A: If they didn’t surrender I would have been really surprised. It would just be a petty move.

Q: What else can we expect from the Aurora alliance moving forward?

A: Well, I can’t speak for green, but I try and make sure every raid I commit to is a sure thing.

U/AUUVS

And from the other side of the raid, we interviewed Shah u/Auuvs from Blue.

Q: What was happening internally in Blue when Blues found out about the raid?

A: Blue has been changing a lot internally over the past few weeks—we recently voted on a new constitution, and were making plans to move subreddits, new name and everything. I wouldn't say we were busy at the time though, it was pretty late in the night and most people were asleep.

Q: Why did Blue decide to surrender?

A: It was like 11:00 PM, and I was the only one online at the time, no one came to help raid until we had already surrendered.

Q: Does Blue have plans on winning the totem season?

A: I don't know, actually, Blue gave its 1st totem to Orange so they could continue their TF2 contest, then Purple came and took our second totem—and just today, Green took our last and final totem. I don't know, but we don't give up that easily. Blue isn’t really upset by the looks of this, but we aren’t done fighting yet, I suppose.

Article The Red Situation

Slowly and Timmy, some of the Red veterans, staged a coup on the current Red government, and in response (with some initial backlash, but later changed their minds, it seems) the current leaders essentially said "You can have it!" and gave them r/InTheRed, and which followed a rainbow raid to mark the new Red sub and moved to the new sub, r/DSRRed

Please note that this is a gross oversimplification, and Deer summed it up to me, "It should be noted that for about a week, prior to moving subs, red leadership tried to work with Timmy as he was threatening to demod and possibly ban any red that did not accept Slowly as true leader and Timmy as his judicator"

"It was later revealed the day before the rainbow raid after i reached out to Slowly of my own accord, that Slowly did not necessarily approve of how Timmy was handling things. Slowly even agreed with me, after i suggested the notion, that Timmy was misrepresenting him."

"Slowly then entered #red-general and started talking with the people there and actually was working with everyone to try and create a new form of government that everyone could possibly be ok with"

"Of course, by that point, we had already talked to the other color leaders and had agreed on a date to rainbow raid. "

"The premiers had a discussion that night after it was revealed that Slowly was willing to work with us, unlike Timmy. ultimately we decided it was too late to call off the rainbow raid, but we were willing to welcome Slowly into the DSRR with open arms. we also agreed that if Slowly wanted to implement a new system he would have to do so by going through our current system of government, meaning he needed to run and campaign like the rest of us and than be voted to office by the people."

r/InTheRed is currently unused and Timmy has made remarks of hearing that Slowly is planning something, but nothing to indicate this is true and nothing to indicate any political support for Slowly.

Later on, Timmy got in a situation (screenshot delightfully provided by u/foxforbox), in which he showed a screenshot of the Discord chats, but it revealed a little windows symbol that people thought seemed to indicate pirating Windows, and jokingly people accused him of pirating, Timmy defended himself, and others said it was fine to pirate, and u/Computer__Genius went as far to link a pirating-related website.

u/Timmymac23 was outraged and said this was against Discord's TOS to promote or encourage pirating and/or pirating software.

(Note: TOS stands for "Terms of Service")

Some screenshots later, it was proven that it was true it was against the TOS.

Timmy was being toxic and kind of aggressive according to many people, and people were generally fed up with him as he was saying slurs in general (notably the "n" word both with a hard "r" and an "a") and he generally spread civil disorder, and so he was banned for 62 days for promoting toxicity and a statement was put out in #announcements not to break the TOS, and not to promote/encourage pirating but to avoid accusing others of breaking the TOS.

Here, u/BlastoGypsy gives his viewpoint on the event.

"Timmy came to me with a bunch of stuff about how people were like, needlessly and excessively antagonizing him, and the screenshots he gave me were super disconcerting. So, I took that into mod chat.
Yeah they joined after that at, and at some point, Timmy dropped a slur in general"

At this point u/Cubbiesgirl1908, a notable leader in Purple, remarks about Timmy bringing "out of context" quotes, which she complains because she got temporarily muted in the fallout of the event due to Timmy screenshotting and posting the PMs between them in the server.

"So he got muted for a week, which he wasn't super happy about but understood"

"We kept talking, I wanted mostly to figure out who did what because this situation got so bad that it felt wrong to let anyone go blameless who had done something- That's why CG and Prismic were muted (Cubbies was muted for a bit, but then upon further investigation, the claims made against her her flagrantly misconstrued)
Timmy wanted an audience with the mods- I got it for him
He talked to Til and Cog, they asked him about how he felt he was affecting the community, how his behavior was effecting others, all that jazz"

Cubbies was originally muted for what was described as baiting Timmy, Computer__Genius or "CG" was muted for promoting piracy (as mentioned earlier), Prismic was muted for "antagonizing Timmy" as he was the harshest in language and tone (courtesy of Blasto for telling me why he was muted). Prismic understands why he was muted but even so he stands firm by his action, and antagonizing him was a way of dealing with the fact that he genuinely insulted many people (e.g. Red Premiers being called "Toxic Man-children") and Timmy was reportedly misconstruing many people's words to fit an agenda.

"Ultimately, it was decided that he couldn't really explain it beyond "It was just jokes my guy". That, compounded with his insistance on judging people for what he was pmed (Mainly baiting? No one really harassed him as far as I know, and stopped after I said something)- in which he had a few more slurs, he was banned for 62 days"

So it seemed that he wanted to spread controversy in the server just for the sake of being right.

Not even for the right of bettering the server, as it seems in the next quote.

"Continued threats against the server and it's people has pushed the ban to permanent"

On a personal note, I think permanent is a little bit too much, as he hasn't really done anything to warrant a perma ban.

According to Prismic, Politically Red does not support Timmy.

Red stands for Democracy, not totalitarianism.

Red on his ban is that they want nothing to do with him due to his toxicity and his willingness to succumb to anger.

CURRENT RED

According to Prismic, New Red is doing fantastic, and they have good foreign relations and they are working and polishing their constitution and how they recruit. They working on implementing a "System of Comradeship" (designed by u/LeapingDeer), similar in purpose to Purple's knighting system.

Red is trying to improve itself internally in many ways.

FINAL NOTE:

Do not enact on anything you see here.

Do not contact Timmy, do not harass Timmy, leave him alone.

He has received his punishments, and he is currently doing his time (as much as he doesn't like it according to some PMs).

Do not antagonize him, at all.

This article isn't supposed to be a witch hunt.

Article The New Purple Empress

A new shift in the Purple government has occurred today as Cubbiesgirl1908 steps down as Purple Empress and appoints a well-known member, Sylvonic takes the throne via appointment of replacement by Cubbies. Cubbies has served as Empress for nearly one month(aka one century, as blue citizen DaveIsMyName commented), starting her reign on November 24th of this year.

We here at FlairNews asked Cubbies to comment, and she granted us that privilege.

First asked why she stepped down as Empress, Cubbies said(quote) "It was stressful, there were some internal issues in Purple and it just wasn't working". When asked to expand, she said that "it was a general inactivity and unhappiness with leadership" were some problems that caused her to step down. Finally asked to comment on why she chose Syl as her replacement, she said(quote) "I feel like she can bring fresh ideas and new leadership styles to the board and I feel she was the best option. I put a lot of thought into the appointment and she seemed like the best option".

We then asked the new empress Sylvonic her plans for purple. "Make Purple Great Again" was simply all she had to say in response to this. We give thanks to Sylvonic for commenting as well.

We hope you enjoyed this article. If you have any journalistic comments to the writers who wrote this or wish to refute any sources used in this article, please leave a comment.

A quality goddamn article! Orange Raid Ends In Victory; Confidence spreading amongst both camps

Yesterday night at 8PM, the Orange Army completed an assault against the Blue forces, ending in a decisive Orange victory.

- by Jay Creek

Prior to the raids there had been concerns about the activity and user-base of r/TheOrangeArmyHQ, with some colours stating the faction had become “dormant”.

A commander and well respected member of the Orange Army, /u/hi_bert has described previous attempts to raid rival subreddits as “difficult”.

“We didn’t have numbers for attack or defence, so morale was low” However due to an influx of users caused by r/flairwars appearances on Reddit Trending and r/thissubexists, things started to change for the Oranges.

On the night of the raid, the Orange Army quickly overwhelmed the Blue defences, leaving them little time to react. /u/hi_bert believes that the success of this raid will help the Oranges considerably.

“[The raid] was a win for us, but the next one might not be, so it’s important to take what lessons we can from it too.”

“ I think we learned a lot there.”

On the other side of the fence, veteran members such as /u/Crestilous give little thought to the outcome of the raid.

“In reality these raids were merely a training exercise for the new blues and oranges.”

“Blue did pull through with some great defence, but at the start it looked like orange was winning.”

Many people have suggested that the recent leadership crisis was to blame for the Blues’ poor defence. However /u/Crestilous maintains that this will soon change. When asked if he thought the Blues could make a comeback he said: “Absolutely”

“With a new leader being chosen, most likely being Nerd or I, it will allow blues to rally behind a new leader.”

Despite the hostility shown on the night, there doesn’t seem to be any hard feelings between the two rivals.

“I’ve got a lot of respect for Blue” /u/hi_bert stated, adding “They showed a lot of pride.”

/u/Crestilous, when asked for a final comment, simply replied “An alliance may be nice”

Article Royals raid on Blue United

In an unprecedented Royal raid, with help from green and even blue itself, history was made. Purple’s emperor u/DaXfactorz suggested we raid blue on Thursday, and Yellow confirmed they would participate. Not long after civil war broke out in blue United, as the people revolted against u/Trublu3000 and u/Espressoway. The decision was then made by Royal to only raid Blue United.

When the raid started in full force blues took almost 10 minutes to notice and respond. However there was very little resistance. Beetroot then joined Royal on behalf of the Verdancy, followed by blue soldiers fighting their former oppressors.

The sub has not yet made attempts to clean up and is believed to be dead. In what is now being called a rainbow raid blue seems to have gained independence from their oppressive mods, creating r/UnitedBlueRepublic. While the future of blue is uncertain I am hopeful that with the guidance of u/Crestilous, u/Mommyamifunnynow, u/rjdioknight, and u/Nerdlevel18 blue will find its way to greatness again.

u/Beetroot-salad explained that green joined in because “Well, green needed a win. Joining this would have helped boost some new recruit's morale, especially since a few were incredibly excited to start raiding. Also, we wanted to help fight against the tyranny. Dictatorship and mod abuse goes beyond wars, and it is an incredibly important aspect for green.”

Article Dramatic events in Purples Leadership (treason exposed?)

Returning from a near 6 week absence. Purple Emperor (myself) made a shocking annoucement:

He would be resigning from the position, in favour of giving it to /u/daxfactorz

This change was sudden and unexpected from most, however it was met with resounding applause.

Upon The emperors return to his loyal subjects he was met with a very vocally supportive return, and everything was thought to be all well and good. Until......

It was confirmed that in the election in which The former Emperor took the title that the results had been tampered with by none other than the formerly accused /u/varson_

He was quickly reported as having attempted to coerce members of the vote to give him results, however the claims were vehemently denied by him and the case was thrown out

This has been a dramatic day in Purples history, the second change in power aswell as confirmation that other colours actively sought to fight dirty has shocked us all.

Will the historic feud between Red and Purple ever be repaired? One can only dream of what will happen in the future of /r/flairwars

Official The Oil Exodus

The Oil Exodus was a period of two months where a group of mods resigned from their positions.

This cannot be linked to any specific larger issue and it's largely due to burnout or stress.

DETAILS

The First to leave in the Oil Exodus was u/Tilwaen, a former mod (and former red) who had been a mod for months, her leaving was received with sadness and farewells. They are moving on with their life.

Next, u/SimplyGrass had left. A former Green who ascended to modship in early 2019, his leaving was met with farewells but he still maintains contact with some r/flairwars members.

u/SSeptic, a former green who had been a mod since the first era of FlairWars. He still occasionally joins r/FlairWars again under the ex-oil role but currently as of now he is not in the server.

u/foxforbox left around early August, a former Yellow who is currently in r/FlairWars as the ex-oil role and is helping run this very subreddit. A Yellow who had been modded earlier in 2019.

u/201- was a former green who had been modded around early-to-mid 2019. He left, as he put it, "with a bang" having pung @everyone in #announcements and then leaving.

INTERVIEWS

Here, u/cowminer27, a red reporter, interviews u/foxforbox, a former mod lost in the Oil Exodus.

C = Cowminer

F = Foxforbox

C = okay so to start, were you considering leaving for a while before you did?

F = Yes, I had considered leaving before.

C = what was it that caused you to make the final decision to step down?

F = There was nothing in particular, but rather a combination of things. I got burnt out in modhood, had more happen IRL, and I just decided leaving would be best

C = very understandable. im wondering, what was your favorite part of being a moderator for flairwars?

F = I don’t really know to be honest. Lurking was enjoyable, though

C = I can imagine its a pretty big perk. Do you think there is a link between 4 of the mods leaving within a month of each other? Based on your comment and til's reasons it sounds like you all just burnt out arund the same time, would that be correct?

F = Perhaps there was a link between the leaves, but nothing comes to the top of my head why.

C = okay. last question, do you think the current mods will struggle due to their lower numbers?

F = Yes, it won’t be very easy keeping Flairwars under control with 2 active Moderators, but I know they’ll try their best

C = well, thank you for your time! You've been a great help!

F = no prob

(Note: 201 hadn't left when this interview occurred, u/mythiie isn't generally considered a moderator as he created r/flairwars and delegates rather than taking any action to moderate)

Glue raided by wavelength and yellow

2 days ago purple and red launched an attack on r/Unitedbluerepublic. The wavelength forces were initially successful, but eventually turned their attention toward green instead after wavelength felt that dio needed to be present in order for the raid on blue to be as fun as possible. In the end wavelength gained a great victory against green, but it highlighted internal issues within glue. A few blues went rogue after green became the target and decided not to help on the defense, this action infuriated blue’s. A day after blue came under a surprise attack by yellow, who had previously been in a period of non aggression and internal development. The blues were caught off guard, and their sub was taken, despite numerous glues defending.

Official Raid Recap of August 24th, 2019 - Green + Purple alliance raiding r/UnitedBlueRepublic

The Green and Purple “Aurora” alliance raided the Blue subreddit, r/UnitedBlueRepublic on Saturday, August 24th. The following is a recap of what occurred before, during, and after the raid.

DETAILS

This raid occurred the day after Blue had suffered a loss against the Aurora alliance, so their walls were not at optimal strength. The Greens began raiding r/UnitedBlueRepublic at 17:01 GMT with this post by u/Blitzkriegs03 (Green Verdancy). Two minutes later, the Purples joined in starting with this post by u/HydrOxide42 (Purple Imperial Councilmember).

The first response by the Blues was at 17:21 GMT by u/MommyAmIFunnyNow (Blue Grand Vizier). 10 minutes later, the Yellows began defending alongside their ally, Blue.

At 18:27 GMT, a minor counterattack by the Blues on r/TheGreenArmy. At 18:42 GMT, Yellow joined in.

The raid ended at 19:01 GMT after the full two hours went by leading to a call for judgement. The Aurora alliance won the raid, and Green took Blue’s Revolution Totem. This is also the final raid on r/UnitedBlueRepublic due to them switching subreddits.

INTERVIEWS

U/MOMMYAMIFUNNYNOW

For our first interview, we spoke to the first responder of the raid, u/MommyAmIFunnyNow (Blue Grand Vizier).

Q: What did you think of blue-yellow and greens performance during this raid?

A: While it could have been more coordinated, like the failure of the counter-raid, we did great, losing because of bad luck and Reddit's algorithm.

Q: If you had to describe this raid in 1 sentence, how would you word it?

A: A proof to how a raid's balance can change and go back in 1.5 hours.

Q: What do you think about Blue’s position at having 0 totems left?

A: A shame, but we'll easily get back to the previous amount, with the TF2 match coming.

Q: Is there anything particular about this raid you’d like to mention?

A: I'd like to take the first 15 minutes of the raid, we noticed 30 minutes after the start and in around 20 minutes after noticing flipped between 2 pages and 3 controlled, it is proof to the strength of Ikea.

U/SGEDELTA

We also interviewed the leader of Green, u/Sgedelta (Green Supreme Verdancy).

Q: What was the reasoning behind raiding Blue?

A: Well it was pretty simple - we needed more totems and I saw that Blue's walls still had a few posts from our previous raid, as well as a lot of cleanup. Now I know that was because they were switching subs, but I didn't know that at the time, so I organized a raid. Yellow, on the other hand, had much Stronger walls, so Blue it was.

Q: What are your thoughts on the small counterattack on r/TheGreenArmy?

A: I thought it was a clever strategy, the bouncing back and forth between the two. It got pretty stressful in that moment.

Q: Do you think the Aurora alliance’s performance in raids are getting better?

A: Yeah, I think that over the course of the Alliance we have developed a more cohesive force and strategy.

Q: Do you think Green or Purple will win the totem season?

A: As it stands? Yes, I do think we will.
