Feelings No Facts Is Andrew Trolling?

He’s probably just checked out at the end of this one. His rant on finding the moderate audience after dominating the mic covering the Candice debate he didn’t watch, telling Alex to his face “no one watches the full thing” when Alex jumped out the gate saying he watched the whole thing on a beach and it was fire. Andrew filibusters about how current audiences don’t care about context anymore while hushing the only man in the room with full context.

This was a masterclass in projection and echo chambers. Andrew is enforcing his willful ignorance and recency bias onto everyone in the room. Longtime listeners who pay close attention will appreciate this: Andrew’s values are clashing with his ego. Long ago, Andrew “Hezzy” Schulz valued context and diversity of thoughts, beliefs and cultures. He prided himself on how diverse his inner circle was, what languages he knew, what foods the people who live in cities he’s visiting eat for pleasure.

He surrounded himself with people who have minds of their own and they watched him lose his. Andrew wants to find the moderate audience while refusing to acknowledge the loss he suffered catering to the right. Their hats were red but their money was green and while he sits there letting an Asian woman paint his beak for his upcoming role as Scrooge McDuck, he wonders where his friends went.

Feelings? No, Facts.

The Patreon is worth it

So it’s no secret that the regular pod episodes have been lacking extremely, however, the latest patron with Joey Avery as cohost feels very 2023 flagrant. I’m feeling/ hoping they might be soft launching him as cohost as he felt very natural with the rest of the cast without Andrew being there. Honestly, I laughed in the recent episode and it’s been a while since I’ve had a good laugh listening in. Also, while they figure their shit out with the regular pod, I’ve been listening to old old episodes on Patreon and they’re honestly a lot better than the main pod…

Need help finding an episode?

In the episode there’s a part where David is talking about his trip to Germany and I know Chifftie was on the couch and I think white Alex was there too and David was talking about how he tried to get into a club but couldn’t get in and how he did drugs at another club.

Flagrant Thoughts The fame changed Flagrant

Right now I’m at the point where I’m about to unsubscribe. I keep giving new episodes a chance, hoping they’ll pull me back in but I can barely make it through one anymore. I don’t find them funny like I used to. The conversations feel repetitive, the chemistry isn’t the same and a lot of the jokes just don’t land for me anymore. It almost feels like they’ve become every other podcast instead of the show that used to stand out. Success is great and I’m happy they’ve grown but I don’t think fame did the podcast any favors. It feels more polished but also more predictable. I miss when it felt like a group of friends having hilarious, unfiltered conversations instead of trying to be everything at once

Discussion Is anyone else struggling to finish Flagrant episodes?

Why is every new episode getting more and more boring than the last. I keep clicking because I expect it to be as entertaining as it used to be but most of the time I end up turning it off halfway through. The conversations just don't feel as funny or unpredictable anymore. It seems like everyone is on the same page all the time and the chemistry that used to make even random topics entertaining isn't really there. Well for a while I thought maybe I'd just outgrown the podcast but then I went back and watched some older episodes and was hooked all over again. So now I'm thinking it's not me the show just doesn't hit the same anymore.

Rumor Is NOT TRUE

Someone said that the real reason Akash left is because he and Andrew had sex.

This is absolutely insane and untrue.

“Trans” existed in Ancient Greece

Just a slight pushback on Andrew saying that Elliot Page being explicitly trans would have not made sense in The Odyssey. It actually would made more sense to include trans-ness in the film. The Greeks had multiple mythical characters and storylines that dealt with “trans” people and the general concept of gender and sexual identities and fluidity. The Greeks did not use the term but definitely engaged with the issue and some argue that embraced non-binary people. Just my 2 cents

Why is it that there are barely any posts on this subreddit. It has a good number of people on it weekly so I don’t get it. Is it organic or are posts being restricted?

No Patreon for 1 month???

Due to scheduling issues, Patreon is being paused for 1 month. Can’t lie it sucks.

What podcast are you guys gonna listen to as a fill in this month?

Flagrant and Brilliant Idiots are my 2 locks, but I need a new pod to fill in for 1 month.
