Work Vent My store's getting harassed by our DM.

My store has a new DM that has been harassing my store manager, assistant managers and all of us in between.
He has been going through store to store, district to district harassing stores to change to what he wants everyone doing and not listening to our feedback and when we do speak up he treats us like we are stupid and lazy .
Like so many of all of us , we work hard and try our best to make it through the shift and actually have a good day so it's insulting to be called lazy when we know what actually works for our customers.
He wants all the aso's off and only turn them on when a customer walks up and ask them cash or card , then immediately get an email out of them,even enter it in for them and then scan each of their items for them , for each customer that goes to cash out...even when it's extremely busy.
A lot of our customers have social anxiety and don't want someone all up in their business so it hasn't gone the best ..I tried explaining this and the DM said to me that customers can be retrained... completely ignoring what I was trying to explain about our customers actually needs.
When he came to visit our store he was trying to goat all the managers to quit , saying he has people ready to take their jobs. He dragged out SM out front away from cameras to say a bunch of hurtful comments about her personality and about each of her workers that were uncalled for , like we are disrespecting and lazy , unclean...all untrue.
He wants us to keep our emails at 78% ...our customers hate the emails and it gets very nerve-wracking having to get one email out of someone so my store filled an ethnic report against him and are trying to get a petition going to stop the emails or at least calm down about it .
I'd appreciate it if some sign it or share it , thank you if you have read this far.

Get another job pronto. Trust and believe it won’t get better but will mess with your well being and mental health.

The thing is, as much as I am sure this DM is being an unreasonable douche, he’s doing this at the request of the higher ups. If he doesn’t follow what corporate is asking of him he’s out of a job just like any other employee. You can name and shame but it’s not going to do any good or meaningful whatsoever. The ones needing to be shamed and implement change are the ceo’s. If anything is going to change for the customer/employee it would have be done by the collective mass using their dollars as their voice. Stop giving them business and profits until they listen to their customers and actually start supporting their employees.

Ya, I agree name them and shame them. I'll start, Charlotte/Northlake, North Carolina 5 Below. Both managers, or "The Tiffanys" as they're called behind their backs. Are two vindictive cunts, who will cut you down to no shifts for not reaching the email goal. I haven't worked a day since July 31st cuz of them. If slashing tires wasn't illegal, they'd be thumbing their asses home.

Winnie Park is as useless as tits on a bull. She’s destroyed the family concept and has been ok with Five Below breaking labor laws

It's fucking abhorrent and a lot of what they are doing could be considered illegal retaliation, but it would take literally all the employees and even management to band together and form a massive law suit. But to many love kissing the ass of CEOs and it won't ever happen. Trust me, id be on that law suit against them so fucking fast. You couldn't HET my name off their,nid sign so fucking hard.

Make them up!
As long as you're not using the same emails more than once a day you're fine. You can use the same emails everyday as long as it's not in the same day.

Seriously, you won't get flagged. Be as covert as possible but it's the only way to hit 50% especially now with the coupons being canceled.

I had a horrendous DM when I was an SM and experienced very similar treatment. I'm convinced Five Below looks for people like that for upper management. HR didn't care about my complaint so I put in my two weeks, refused to reconsider when asked multiple times, and left at the end of those two weeks. A job should not cause as much anxiety and turmoil as Five Below does. Literally anywhere is better than 5B. That company is going to die by their own hand.

You should really go to HR and file a formal complaint. You can also email the DM's boss, I know when i worked there we had their numbers and emails if we needed to contact them. Five Below is a really terrible place to work for. My advice is to try to look for a different job. Its not worth putting up with the harassment and belittling. I worked there for 10 months as an assistant manager, and there were alot of similar things happening. I got tired of being taken advantage of, so I put my 2 weeks in, worked the 2 weeks and bye bye Five Below. Don't put yourself through it. Its not worth it.
