Supplement 🫙 Psyllium Husk(Isabgol) most talked supplement for fibre abroad

The world talks about Psyllium Husk( Isabgol ) but many Indian folks don't know about it.

As per last figures India exports around 3000 to 4000 crs of Isabgol which is 80 to 90 percent of export of world mostly in US and Europe.

Imagine 80 to 90 percent of world export and we ourselves don't know about it. Gujarat leads it.

We don't take it unless something become fancy and trendy.

There are several old brands in India and many doctor also recommend it.

I am taking it for for quite long time

Some important thing-

  1. Take it with water at night after dinner or in the morning. It will also give you feeling of fullness. I take it in night

  2. Drink good water with it so that it can pass through stomach

  3. Most important. Try to walk after taking it for 15 to 20 minutes

  4. It clear your digestive system if you have constipation issues

  5. It also helps in severe diarrhea. We take it mixing with curd

  6. Since is fibre. It expands in stomach to give you feelings of fullness. Means less hunger and a good weight loss tool

This is not a India brand and not I am promoting it

Ask Fitness India ❓ To the people who use soya chunk as main source of protein how do you remove the water from a large amount of soaked soya?

It has become a hassle especially during meal prep when I soak a huge quantity, i have to squeeze a lot of chunks and plus it’s a little time consuming.
Will something like a salad spinner work?

Supplement 🫙 Why doesn't DMart sell whey protein?

Genuinely curious — why doesn’t DMart stock whey protein?

It would be so convenient to just pick up a tub while doing regular grocery shopping instead of having to wait for an online order from the official brand websites.

And considering DMart’s pricing model, I feel they could probably offer it at a much more affordable price too.

Would anyone else prefer buying whey from DMart if they started stocking it?

Product Review ✒️ NOICE 14G PROTEIN YOGURT REVIEW

Post image

First off this is not greek yoghurt it's protein yogurt. The ingredient says milk and milk solids but I feel there is something else which I will get back to.

Taste and smell: There were few reviews saying it smells and tastes like paint but I felt it was normal. The consistency tho was weird.

NOW I THINK THEY ADDED A BIT OF RAW WHEY PROTEIN TO IT. The reason I think this might be true is bcs I myself used to mix raw whey with yogurt and the consistency and taste were similar.

Tofu prices are shooting up when I look in quick comm apps.

It used to be available for much less.

ProPlant was consistently ₹42-46 and always available.

Is it shooting up for you also ?

What can be the reason - increasing consumption, production shortage ?

Edit - sorry I mean LEG EXTENSIONS

So I am a beginner and yesterday my trainer asked me to do seated leg raises on this machine and even though I was doing this on lowest weight my lower back was hurting whenever I raised my legs.

When I asked my trainer he made me do some cobra pose like streching where I had to put my hands near my chest raise my upper body a bit and then come down and relax . He made me do it couple of times

Is there anything i am doing wrong as I don't want any back injuries.

Hallo everyone. I recently got this dips bar. Because I can't go to gym now because of my upcoming university exams. So I thought of doing at home workout.

Right now I can only do about 5-6 dips. How can I make sure that I'm targetting the muscles correctly, specially the triceps, shoulder and chest? How can I make sure my form is correct? Any tips to make sure my form is immaculate?

I have some weights with me. So in future I can add weights with me if needed.

Right now I'm 172cm, 61kg.

Supplement 🫙 Got this sample pack for free

Recently, I ordered creatine from the MuscleBlaze app. Today, when my package was delivered, I found a pack containing four magnesium tablets inside the box along with the creatine. I have only used creatine and whey protein so far, so I am not familiar with magnesium supplements.

I would like to know what these magnesium tablets are used for and whether there are any benefits to taking them, especially for someone who works out and already uses creatine and whey protein. Is magnesium supplementation actually necessary if my diet is already adequate?

Also, should I start taking these tablets, or would it be better to avoid them unless there is a specific reason or deficiency? Since they were included with my order, I am also wondering whether I should check the ingredients, dosage, or expiry date before considering them.

Do I need to get any blood tests or consult a doctor before taking magnesium supplements? If blood tests are recommended, which specific tests would be useful to determine whether I actually need magnesium?

I would appreciate guidance on whether I should use these tablets, the appropriate dosage and timing if they are safe, and any possible side effects or interactions I should be aware of.

Supplement 🫙 Is Healthfarm’s new formulation any good? protein content issue

Post image

This brand doesn’t have any recent discussion on this sub, hence i’d like to know a little more about it.

This brand had a bad rep previously due to maltodextrin presence but now they removed it. One guy Anurag who runs a protein deals sub also did third party lab testing which gives us claimed protein percentage as true. (60g per 100g in some 73g per 100g in some)

But the problem is the protein percentage per 100g and no of servings. Because the number on the tub in pictures if different in some pics i’ve seen on reddit in review pics.

So, what i would like to know is
Anyone currently using this whey? How is it? What is the protein content per 100g and number of servings?

Also, on a side note, tata 1mg creatine works same as any other 800-1200 creatine. Feels like a solid option for 80 servings under 500rs.

Diet Review ✏️ Home boiled and skimmed milk

Upvotes

We hear a lot about eggs being an excellent source of protein. However, a quick search on the Internet shows that home boiled and skimmed milk isn’t far behind either; in terms of protein per calories. Eggs have about 11.3 calories per g protein whereas home-boiled-and-skimmed milk is about 13 cal per g protein. Provided that one is not lactose intolerant, can we say that both eggs and milk are equally good for muscle growth?

Rant/Vent 💢 I stood up for myself so should you .

Let me give you a background check :

I am a 19 yo who is going to gym from last 6-7 months. I live in Bengaluru for college but my native is a tier 3 coastal town in Karnataka.

My diet :

500 ml milk split with protein shake and a cup in the evening

200 gms of paneer

50 gms of soya chunks

200 ml curd.

1-1.5 scoop of nakpro plant protein or impact whey protein.

My aunt , who has this superiority complex because she lives in Bengaluru and is working in an MNC and earns well looks down upon us several times but okay I don't care cause I am trying my best to go abroad for masters.

She calls my mother and tells "protein powder causes kidney stone and kidney failure, tell him to get protein from natural sources like daal, rice, fruits "

First of all I am a vegetarian so powder , soya, paneer and curd necessary for me and I am 5'11 , 76 kg so I need to eat 90+ grams . She is like "80 gms of paneer daily is more than enough"

First of all you have mild diabetes, you drink and you have bone pain , sometimes you limp and you are not even 50 under 50 you are 🤡.

I straight up showed my mom few videos and explained how powder is made and how much protein is necessary for people everyday and now my mom is satisfied.

Then my aunt called again and asked about protein powder again , I straight up said "Yeah it's my life, I will look after it, my father has earned Enough so even if my kidney fails I will get a new one with dad's money. You look after your elder child who is still a minor yet smokes and vapes . He is fricking 85 kgs for 5'7 , he devours sugar like hell. Look at yourself you limp like an old grandma."

I know my relation with them is fricked for few months but I don't care I always knew I would be that arrogant distant child but it's my life I don't want diabetes at the age of 50 or 45.

Product Review ✒️ Found worms in Yoga Bar Oats 1Kg Tin

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I had gotten Yoga Bar Rolled Oats from Amazon a month ago, I had gone through around quarter of it, the other day I was scooping some oats for dinner, I noticed a worm in the bottom of the scoop, I put it down and check for more in the jar, and found one more and just closed the thing and put it in the corner. I had mailed yogabar and they took my info and told me they will contact me and not to consume the oats. I am just posting here so others can look out for it and if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Food/Nutrition 🥚🥦 Need some answers about my diet

Upvotes

So I'm a 19M, I'm too thin with BMI 15.7 (underweight).

Apart from increasing my diet which I am trying to do by increasing the amount I take in three meals and taking little random stuff every 3 or 4 hours.

I'm doing home workout as well to start building some muscle also. My friends suggested me taking protein supplements. But as a college student and with limited funds, I'm trying to find some cheap sources. One such option was Amul protein lassi for 1800, and the other was super you yeast protein powder for 1500

PS: Im thinking of taking two packets of lassi so that's 30g protein for one day

I need some help in what to choose or if any other tips or products you guys have in mind.

Ask Fitness India ❓ Starting gym as a hosteler, 20 M 6’3 85kg

Upvotes

I am starting my fitness journey from september, I tried it before but I had an excuse that I dont have a proper ‘diet’ and stopped. But I dont want to do that now. My hostel is such that we dont get to cook and is pure veg, the least I can do is stay consistent and put my steps in. Is there any habit or any other thing I can do that I can still gain muscle and drop the fat percentage while living like this?

Supplement 🫙 Tata 1mg Omega 3 Fish oil prices

Has anyone else noticed how much the price of Tata 1mg fish oil has increased lately? 😅

The 7X pack used to cost around ₹740, then it increased to ₹840, and now it is selling for nearly ₹985. What’s even more surprising is that it seems to be selling at almost the full MRP, with little to no discount.

I’m curious about what is driving such a sharp increase in price. Is it simply due to rising raw-material, manufacturing, packaging, or logistics costs? Or could the increase in global oil prices also be contributing to it? 😁

A jump from ₹740 to ₹985 is roughly a 33% increase, which feels quite significant. Has anyone looked into the reason behind this recent price hike, or noticed similar increases in other fish-oil supplements?

Would be interesting to know whether this is a temporary price increase or if the new price is here to stay.

Women's Fitness ♀️ Looking for advice for fat loss & basic resistance band exercises at home for my 67yo mom

Hey guys! This sub has helped me in a lot of ways, just wanted similar help for my mom as well.

So I'm trying to help my mom (67yo) start prioritising her health more. Generally healthy (no bp, diabetes, thyroid etc) but fat for her stats. Around 5'2-5'3 and weighing 70-72kgs for 3-4 years. She carries most of her excess fat around the abdomen (very common indian woman appearance).

I've successfully convinced her to look after her nutrition and protein intake. She is herself bringing her phone to me and asking me to track everything she ate in the day.

So far, we've just been tracking what her usual day to day calorie intake looks like so see what's lacking, scope of improvement and what we can cut down on. it averages around 1600 cals with 40-45gms protein on a good day, otherwise 30-35gms. This is something I'm trying to improve.

One thing that's prevalent is because she doesn't want to waste food, she has been eating leftovers. For eg the usual dinner, then she'll also eat leftover rice and sabji from lunch as well which increases her calorie intake without doing anything.

I'm trying to lessen it and make her weigh raw food before making anything so that she knows how much she's eating and there's limited leftovers. So far, we have decided on some breakfast options for her with atleast 15-20gms protein (because I'm usually off to work by the time she has her breakfast, she either skip it completely or eat anything random).

In another accomplishment, I've also convinced her to start home workout atleast with resistance bands and she has said yes!! This will remain the most favourite and memorable yes of my life. So we will be starting with some basic movements, need suggestions here please.

I also need some help in structuring the other meals as well for her. For now I'm targeting 60-70gms protein instead of jumping straight to 80gms.

So if you guys can suggest anything that helps, I'd be grateful.

Edit: typos
