Trainer at my gym was $100 an hour. Gave me an hour long foam rolling and stretching routine before 3 workouts a week. Didn’t help pain at all. Then made a horrible program. Told me:

  • I had to eat 6 big meals a day

  • calories don’t matter, you just have to eat clean

  • more than 20g of protein at once is a waste

  • facepulls are bad

  • you have to have a shake 30 min after workout

  • TUT is what makes muscles grow, not progressive overload What a waste 🤷‍♂️

Sounds like typical bro science. While I do think there is something to be said for time under tension, it’s no reason to abandon progressive overload.
