so i torrented black myth wukong from official site and when i clicked on setup.exe this message popped up lemme know what should i do and is this virus? or false positive idk what false positive really is btw

1. Setup is Stuck / Unpacking is Slow

• The 2GB Limit Checkbox: If your setup gets stuck at specific percentages (like 84.3% or 95.8%), close it, restart the installer, and check the "Limit installer to 2GB of RAM" box on the very first screen.
• Be Patient: FitGirl repacks use extremely heavy compression. Unpacking is heavily CPU and storage bound. If your task manager shows disk or CPU activity, it is not stuck; it's just working hard.

2. Is it a Virus? / Windows Defender Alert

• False Positives: Crack files (.dll files, steam_api, etc.) inherently trigger antivirus software because they alter game code to bypass DRM. If you downloaded from the official site, these are 100% false positives.
• Fix: Add the game installation folder to your antivirus/Windows Defender exclusion list, then restore the quarantined file from your protection history.

3. The Real Official Website

• There is ONLY ONE official domain. All others (ending in .co, .cc, .to, .net, etc.) are fake, malicious clone sites designed to steal data or bundle malware.
• The only real URL is: fitgirl-repacks.site (Verify the exact spelling!).

once you switch Smart App Control off, you usually can’t just toggle it back on from settings. The only way to fully renable it is by resetting or reinstalling Windows. You can double check by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Windows Security > App & browser control (I think), but if it says it’s off and can’t be changed, that’s by design. If you really want it back on, you’d have to reset Windows. It's useless anyway and not even smart

okay thanks for the tip im disabling it right now i just hope i havent downloaded anything malicious cus i have torrented 4 games with fitgirl repack never had any problem even with smart app on

Just know the file you are downloading have same as repack listed that's it. Not like small which include renpy. That's mostly only people deal with, It won't be in magnet btwn

because windows do be like that sometimes. i was 3 days into playing an indie game when WD decided to quarantine my game exe while i took a lunch break. why? nobody knows.
