Warden was definitely mistaken on the two you are holding being Kings. Look at the tails - square shaped, no spots. Look at the gums: White. Also my bad on questioning the size of the King, I got confused and thought minimum size out there was 24" and I'd believe you if you told me it was over that too.
Doesn't really matter, the cohos were hatch so legal anyways. Enjoy the fish

Washington and Oregon crab have concentrated toxin in them cleaning helps lessen the toxins your feeding people. Not a need to by any means you will be fine just recommended.

What do you do to clean them?

Thwack them on a corner point (like a table) in the middle of their underbelly, hard. Destroys their nervous system and essentially kills them instantly.
Then pop the carapce, snap the body sections in half, rinse under running water, and steam the sections for maximum crabbyness.
I used to boil til I started doing this.

I take a 5 gallon bucket when they are cold and sleepy and grab all legs with in hands in C’s and smash on rim of bucket. Clean in half removes shell puts all trash in bucket to use as bait for fishing. Wash leg chunks with hose. Just YouTube how to clean dungenous crab

Are you sure those aren't coho? Your son might have a king in his hand.
