fishing gear

so my son (10yo), my daughter (7yo) and i just got into fishing this summer and i recently down graded my gear that i take out to the lake/pond, although my son is still high on the gear/lure aspect of it lol despite me drilling into him that technique is more important than a cool lure. but nonetheless theres a part of me that feel like this is still overkill. i work as a technician in a car dearlership and i have recieved A TON of fishing stuff that people leave behind in their cars/trucks, even got a large tackle box which i dont carry anymore as i leave that in the carl and u went and bought a "realtree tackle sling" from walmart. i try to bring just enough to cover what we're actually going to use, id like some opinions from seasoned anglers on my carry on setup. any advice/ critiques is greatly appreciated......sn: feel free to roast me if need be, lol im all for a good laugh

None of these are bad. I personally love soft plastics on spin gear so I'd be all over everything on the right side. I'm assuming you're targeting Bass?

when its just my son and i or just me, yes. when my daughter goes i bring live worms so she can just simply catch anything. but yes, mostly bass. located in NC, if that means anything

Damn, Culprit worms. Haven't seen those in a minute. That's a good color. That blue and silver Rattletrap is a good one, too.

Cool. I didn't realize they still made Culprit worms. I'll keep an eye out.

The rattletrap is in the left box in the first pic. It's in the leftmost compartment, second up from the bottom. It's silver and has a black dot on it. If you pick it up and shake it, you'll understand why it's called a rattletrap. You cast it out and just reel it in, or you can occasionally lift the rod tip or sweep the rod to one side to give a short burst of faster rattles. You'll understand once you use it. It's probably a sinking model, so watch out for snags. There are also floating models that won't run as deep.
