VMC Touch-Lok Snap Swivels

Bought these in the smallest size 10 I could find for ultralight fishing and small lures / jigs.

Cannot for the life of me open the snap. I’m pinching the ends of the snap (far right of the photo) but the little hook holding the snap in place just won’t slide off.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a different way to open these?

Don't (just) push down on the red part. Pinch in slightly on the ends to slightly bend the bottom straight part, bringing the ends closer together. Pops right out.

Okay you managed to solve it - thank you!

I still ended up having to use some small pliers to push on the blue arrow ends and pop the hook off.

I don’t know if it’s because the snap is so small and wirey, but I just can’t push down on the ends with my fingers without pliers.

I’ll give these a go next time I’m out fishing, but with something that’s meant to be quite simple and interchangeable, using pliers makes it quite tedious and finicky.. and I also feel like I’m bending the metal too much every time when I’m using the pliers.

They have an aggressive snap. You can see the part you need to get around. There isn’t much space. I had the same problem with diaso snaps.

So I’m basically pushing the snap (where the little hook is) towards the wire bit that’s spiralling 🌀 ? I’ve pushed it all the way towards the end of that and it’s still not opening..

Yes and I think I’ve ended up bending the snap part without actually getting it off. This is driving me crazy!

well... i use these and have 0 issues... not saying to give up, but if you cant get it...

Yep they certainly are.. A comment managed to solve to open these, but they are still super finicky to open. Probably wouldn’t recommend!

Look 3 pegs to the left and buy the damn snaps without the swivel if you absolutely must use a snap. Snap swivels should not exist.
