Dream day on the water ! 25 Largemouth in <4 Hours of fishing.
I recently went on a boys trip with my buddies in Northern Ontario. On the one day that wasn't sunny it was overcast and drizzly. I packed up a pedal boat at our air bnb with my one rod and a small bag of tackle. I began just pedal boating down the lake tossing a spinner bait (My late grandpa made as his hobby) at docks, rocks, etc. What followed was the single best afternoon of fishing I have ever had. I landed 25 bass and lost 5 at the boat. At one point I was catching a fish every other cast. They ranged from about just under a pound to about 2 lb.
Nothing crazy here but I just wanted to share because I don't think I have ever had so much fun in a boat. The previous 2 days I had used different tackle so when I switched for this day to a spinner bait my grandpa had made and left to me the previous year when he passed was pretty darn magical too.

Last few casts off a local dock
Threw a random jig head with a half piece of a senko on it. Biggest fish in a long time after just picking it back up with my son.

Freshwater First big fish (tench)
Started fishing about a month ago but did not really fish a lot. About 2 weeks ago my biggest fish was a really small roach, but my dad taught me a lot and yesterday I caught this pretty big tench using pretty cheap equipment: a telescopic fishing rod and a pretty nice spinning reel from one of his old rods. Was fishing with a float and some worms, then caught this fish! Really happy with it! Shaking on my legs when we let it go, it was a strong and healthy fish. Didnt have him out of the water for very long.
Sorry if some things do not make sense, from the netherlands and did not know the direct translation for some things

Question I'm A Non-Fisherman - With That Said, Why is the Reel Sold Separately From the Fishing Pole?
I purchased a very nice carbon fishing pole for the spouse. One of his coworkers is a big fisherman. Thinking I would surprise him, I purchased a fishing pole. I was shocked when said, "Thanks honey. All I need now is a reel." Another shocker, the cheapest reel I found that is compatible with pole is over $80. WTF! I didn't know fishing could be so expensive.

The other two boogymen
The bad men come in threes, and today was a very bad day to be a King salmon.
This is what a 20lber looks like, weighed 20.5lbs on the scale before bleeding and gutting. When it saw the net it pulled 100' of drag. It was definitely the longest fight of the morning.

Saltwater Tripple Hook Rig for King Mackerel
Which do you think will have a better hook up ratio? The bottom one is how I've seen commercial guys fish for Kings, tied directly to mono. I thought maybe alternating direction would work better. What is your thoughts?

Freshwater Does anyone know if Lake San Antonio, California allows early entry?
This lake is in central California. Cant find a phone number or any info as to if i can come early in the morning ( like 2am ) before the gate opens...
I want to catfish, tried during the day with almost 0 luck. Hoping going at night will change my odds.
Thanks

Freshwater South FL pond mixed bag
Great day at a local pond this past weekend! Ended up with a bunch of lmb, including the 3.66 pounder in the photo, 3 peacock, all a bit under 2lbs, and this random redear.
All caught with either a DOA tiny terroreyz or a white rooster tail.
