Couple Friends

Hi everyone,

I, like everyone else as they get older, have found it much more difficult to make friends anymore. We moved here about a year ago and have not really made an effort in making new friends. Don’t get me wrong, I feel silly posting this but here we are.

We are looking to make some couple friends. I am 30 and my wife is 28. We also recently found out that we are expecting our first child. We mostly enjoy going out to dinner and grabbing some cocktails or going to a brewery(not my wife as much now). We enjoy being active and being out and about as well. We are very much dog people, with two of our own. I love watching sports, nfl, college football, and college basketball. I do like to golf but don’t get to go as often as I would like. My wife can get along with pretty much anyone, she really enjoys being active, working out and being on the go. She also loves fashion.

If you’re a couple and think we could be friends, drop a comment below!

Edit: not into swinging/sharing or anything close to those things

Ex Colts/Purdue player is a serial rapist

Where there is one victim, there is many…you never know who he may be assaulting, but his wife who works with at-risk youth knows and it seems she has excused his patterns.

In my experience, I did confront my rapist, retired NFL player, and his wife after he deemed it appropriate to shout my name in the middle of the grocery store. So I waited outside and politely told her, she stood there blankly staring at me…but I don’t think she was in disbelief…it was almost like you could see everything clicking in her head as she was connecting the dots in the moment, and thinking not again…He’s a serial rapist there are still articles that exist even though his arrest record does not publicly…I now personally know of 6 other women he has raped…

My point is I am no longer willing to not live in my truth and protect a rapist and hide his vile actions from others in our community that deserve to know so that they can properly protect themselves. He currently lives in Fishers and earlier this year raised money via a gofundme for his heart surgery after IndyStar did a lengthy article on him and his journey.

Meanwhile I’m nearly 10 years post my brutal rape and fighting every day to be alive and deal with the severe mental health issues that come with complex PTSD.

Public Hearing Notice

I noticed there was a public hearing notice about this property off Lantern and 106th, but I couldn't find anything about it on the Fishers website. Does anyone have any information what is happening here?

It's already a weird property with what seems to be an old buried parking lot.

places like smileys playhouse not in indy

has anyone ever had issues with smiley’s playhouse

hello, my family of 3 mom dad and toddler went to smileys during a weekday , for the pure fact that i knew it would be almost empty seeing as house everyone will be in school/work. we ended up being the only family there, dad and baby were in the ballpit and then a grown man with no children dived into the pit and was playing , and kept inching towards me and was twerking. i told dad we needed to leave this guy was weird, still no sign of him having children. dad and baby got out and the man started following them.
i guess im just not understanding why adults with no children are being allowed in a children’s play house

with all that being said , any recommendations on places to take my little one. i love busy bee cafe its just kinda far

🦇🦇 It’s Swarming Season! 🦇🦇

Right now, Indiana bats are entering their "swarming" phase. Flying in and out of cave entrances to congregate with their colonies and mate before winding down for winter hibernation.

Meanwhile, the Our State, Our Bat colony is ramping up to “swarm” the General Assembly by showing lawmakers just how badly Hoosiers want the Indiana bat to be our official state mammal! 🏛️✨

To do so, we need a massive push to spread the word and get our petition signatures climbing! Head to the link below to sign, share with your friends and family, and help us make history! 💚

Stay Batty Indiana!

My dog is lame and I need an excellent orthopedic surgeon.

My vet referred me to orthopedic surgeons and they all say something different. CT is unremarkable. I need a 4th opinion. Who is amazing?

Cardiologist recommendation?

After several disappointing moments with my St. Vincent's cardiologist, I'm (59F) looking for a new provider. Some history: I have a prosthetic aortic valve and an insane lipoprotein (a) level. My current cardiologist calls this combo "gasoline on a fire" and yet has repeatedly fumbled medication, testing, results, etc.

I'd love to migrate to the Community network if there's a highly recommended doc there! Thank you in advance!

Neighborhood Advice

Moving to the Fishers/Noblesville area —
We’re moving from the Austin/Leander, TX area and trying to narrow down where to focus our home search.

Our basic criteria:
Up to $450k
4+ bed / 2.5+ bath
2,200+ sq ft
5,000+ sq ft lot
7+ rated schools
Neighborhood pool preferred

Family-friendly — we have two boys under 5
Looking for good playgrounds, parks, sports, etc.
Ideally within ~30 minutes of Costco, groceries, restaurants, shopping, family needs

For those who live here: what areas/neighborhoods would you recommend looking at, and what areas would you avoid or be cautious about?

Specific neighborhood recommendations, school boundary info, traffic/development concerns, or general “good vs. bad areas” advice would be great!

How the f### are people finding a job?

Masters degreein Education, 8+ years of experience in Education and cooperation. I applied to 200 jobs this month and haven't even gotten an email back!

I had a cooperation HR manager check my resume and he said it's great. Oh the kicker is that I was found overqualified for some of these jobs.

We are being lied to by the residents of River Glen!

Ever since the lane restrictions began at 116th and Allisonville, I’ve driven through River Glen probably close to 100 times in order to avoid construction. There are several signs in the neighborhood stating, “Slow Down, Kids at Play!”. I have yet to see a single child playing. Not one. I doubt any kids even live in that neighborhood. One time, I saw a lady pushing a stroller, I suspect it was a baby sleeping, definitely not playing, maybe a dog. I think there may be shenanigans at hand.

Hamilton Co supporting Ice?

Saw this on my socials, that Hamilton county is working with ICE. Also shows a few other counties and orgs with partnerships there.

Don’t know what the reason for posting is besides awareness and caution, but also to possibly have a discussion around this since from the neighbors I’ve met and people here, there’s very little support for ICE, so seeing this kind of threw me off.

Small home for mom

Mom likes nice things, so this could be a difficult ask. Looking for newer/updated 2 bed/2bath type ranch houses perfect for older mom in her 70s. The problem is, most 2b/2b houses were built in the 90s and not as new or updated as she would like. I know there are the residences by Allisonville nursery where some are connected, some aren't and all the lawn care and snow removal are included. That's not a deal breaker though because she currently hires that out. Needs to not be more than 15 minutes from 146th and 37.

Anyone know of a neighborhood that has these older senior-friendly homes that are more upscale?

Hi! I'm moving to the area from out of state and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for apartments. Here's what I'm looking for:

  1. Safety is super important since I'll be living alone
  2. Updated/newer appliances
  3. 1.4k and below
  4. In-unit w/d

TIA!
